We need 212 to win in 48 overs. Here's hoping. :)

Hard Luck.

This is what Wisden says

[QUOTE]After all, England gleefully sat on their hands as it rained for much of the final Test at Centurion

True, we did chuckle happily at Centurian, but that was revenge for them being able to chuckle merrily when bad light saved them at Durban.

Do you know that the BBC's cricket area have got a hideous count down thing until the first Ashes test!!! It's making me a nervous wreck and there still 159 days to go.:D:P

More tonnage for Pieterson. :D Surely he's sealed hs place in the test side. Move Vaughan up to no.3 and have him at no.4 with Thorpey sandwiched between him and Flinty. :)

6 sixes and 10 fours in that 100. Only Giles had more than 25 runs for the rest of the side.

This lad is worth watching.

Yep, and all his tons are more than run a ball. He can dominate any attack I'm thinking. :)

Warney seems to have bowled over Sri Lanka.

The three days that Warne spent in Sri Lanka not only restored his personal image, but made him a champion amongst the Sri Lankan people. He will be seen and treated in a different light in the future. Murali also received a warm welcome from Australian spectators when he played for the World XI in the charity match at Melbourne recently. It took a tragedy of huge proportions to change people's attitudes.

Mending fences. :)

The Antarctic will soon join the list of civilised nation. :)

I don't think the pitch will be very good to bat on though. And if the snow is soft, the slow outfield could make scoring tricky.

That sounds as if conditions could favour a controlled bowler. :)

No-one was quite sure how seriously to take it. Although it was a lark, it was also a match between proud cricketing countries. Some blokes were making their debuts. No-one had much idea how to play the game either, least of all the bemused Australians.

Wizards of Oz win again.

I think 20 over matches do at least have the potential to be less predictable than Tests or ODI's. Because it's very hit and miss. Still, I do not think twenty20 should become an international tournament. Better to reform ODI's for the time being at least.

Here's hoping for an innings defeat. Why do I get the strange feeling that the impending Tests between Zim and SA will not be quite as interesting as those between them and us? :)

Australia's cricketers will ask for plastic bottles of beer to be banned at New Zealand grounds after some players were hit while fielding during Saturday's one-day win over New Zealand.

Only way to beat Oz? :D

'Someone's going to get hurt,' warns Ponting

I think he means some of the crowd, if he orders Gilchrist or Lee to take aim in their separate ways :D

Compared to our primative football fans, cricket fans are harmless. :)

And not just an ordinary rugger player. One who can go for 10 an over with no obvious threat. :)
