"Warne and Lee have now scored 401 runs in the series between them, a tally that most of their frontline batsmen would kill for. Their self-assured attitude with the bat translated effortlessly into a full-frontal assault with the ball, as England choked in their haste to gobble the target as quickly as possible. "

Add that to the fact the Mcgrath has not been dismissed in the 2 games he's played, and it tends to mean that we are crap at bowling at the ozzie tail. Jonesy is the only one who has a clue.

Still, time to pray to the Rain Gods for the next 10 days.

You seem to have got your wish:

Glenn McGrath faces a fitness battle to be ready for Australia's must-win fifth Ashes Test at The Oval next month. Ricky Ponting said there was doubt over McGrath's fitness after he missed the Trent Bridge loss with an elbow injury.

One spunky Aussie batsman less to get out...:D

Think you have your hands around that URN?

If OZ draws at the Oval they still return the Ashes.

If they lose I am sure they will go down guns blazing.

Time OZ made Gilly captain. Ricky Ponting is not actually the best motivation for Australia.

I'll take a guess and say that Ponting is under enormous pressure from Warne. Warne looks as edgy as all get up. I think Warne is on a knife edge. He is playing great but his personal life is a disaster.

I think Ponting is taking all this stress. The way Warne carries on on the field, I wonder what he is like in the dressing rooms. Marriage breakups make men go cuckoo.

How many times have you seem Warne blathering away on the field in Ponting's ear and Ponting just silently taking it?

Maybe Ponting's spray at Fletcher was just what the doctor ordered! :)

Gilchrist would not make a good captain. Warne is by far the best. By a mile. But his personal life is in tatters.

Remember chaps!

You won the last toss. And that basically decided the game. I have never seen a more docile first day pitch. And even then England won in a nail biter!

Same again for the previous test! And all you got was a draw.

The previous test before that McGrath was out injured that morning. Ponting amazingly put England in. And still! you only won by two runs!

A little luck our way, and we might still take the ashes back home. Tait wasn't too bad a find. And Lee is in amazing form. And its not like our top end batsmen aren't due. LOL

Ponting, Clarke, Katich, Langer, Lee, Warne, are all starting to get runs.

Australia have been world beaters for 12 years. They know how to win. And their form isn't hopeless by a long way.

Lee could totally decimate a team the way he is flying at the moment. If he got 7/35 I wouldn't be surprised. Did you see the look on Flintoff when Lee got him second innings? That said a lot.

There are reports of spectators on the boundary line making wisecracks about his marriage break up.

Sad.:(

Among leg spinners he is God.

But as captain?:wonder:

Then captaincy will help take his mind off it. He's half captain already. He frequently seems to dispence advice to Pont. Just as well for us that Warney isn't overall captain.

He would make a great captain as leader goes. He is tactically very good.

But it would be too much pressure for him. I don't think he is the Steve Waugh type.

The only reason Zim is still in international cricket is so the Bangas can beat them.

What a bunch of rubbish. Zim (and the whole continent) could prosper without that WANKER Mugabe around.
