He even took a catch. :chok:

I reckon the difference is that Australia are an actual team, while the world XI are not. Even New Zealand broke even against a world XI, though it wasn't quite as good as this one is.

Too many WorldXI batters went for shots too early, Lara and Afridi especially. Sangakkara was good but even he was nearly out in the first over going for a hit if I remember. Nice to see Shoaib get a six anyway.:)

Chasing 250 odd should have been easy:uh: Ossies back to the similar Kick 'em in the guts mentality against an inferior side!:wonder:

There was a rain-affected Twenty20 on Sky a few months ago. 5 overs a side, fielders sliding all over the place, spinners couldn't grip the ball so they just placed it as best they could. Now THAT was a decent slog-and-hope match:cool:

McGrath as impeccable as ever. What if he's still going when he's 45?

In that event he'll have 1500 test wickets.

Shame they dropped Afridi. He's like lightning: been and gone before you know it and rarely seems to "strike twice":D

I went to see it live. Biggest waste of money. And it wasn't cheap. Even the cheap seats....LOL

Shocking display..... the Rest of the World side looked like they were getting over hangovers.

McGrath was bowling tight as ever, giving a miserly 1.8 runs an over. Just that snuffed them out. They couldn't get going after McGrath. Flintoff batted like Boycott.

Like I said, Gayle was certainly the guy to go for:kowt:

Hmmm. Why are WIndy domestic 1 day games so tightly fought affairs. :wonder:

7 runs. 2 runs. 1 run. 4 wickets. Tie. 3 runs. 14 runs. :chok:

Time to drop Lara, have Kallis do the keeping, Flintoff drinks boy, Murali opens the batting, Michael Own supersub. It can only get better, roit?

Eleven stars are not as good as a TEAM.

I doubt if this World XI can beat the Ozzie schoolboy team.

Dmitry asked me to umpire this game because the present lot of umpires have been found wanting.

Do you guys think I would be okay?

PS. Is there any other thread that has run for 180 pages?

Symonds looked as happy as a schoolboy putting the icing on the Oz innings cake.

And Agnostic, as long as you don't call DUMA for chucking, you should take Dmitry's offer:kowt:

Don't be afraid to issue heavy fines fines to cossack for bringing Pravda into disrepute.

Australia is playing well. They are fired up. If McGrath had been bowling last you could wipe off 50 runs from the Rest of The World team. The newbie bowlers for Oz were a bit rattled by Gayle.

However, I'm not getting too carried away. The internationals look like they came over for a holiday. Big laugh. But they aren't laughing now. This is a humiliation so far. Petierson looks embarrassed by his form. Lara looks sheepish. And Flintoff doesn't know where the magic has gone.

The question is can the World team turn it around. Might be difficult, even though they have a star studded side.

Australia is desperate to crush them, it looks like.

More well-cooked duck for BCL this evening. A 600 is definitely on for the Test.

Hey Agnostic, GO FOR IT>
And bring some of your humour to the job. Couldn't think of anyone better for it.
