four of his last eight Test innings have produced half-centuries, with two 90s thrown in

He could possibly be of more use as a batter than a bowler. Hopfully he'll get over this nervous 90's affliction. But not against us.;)

After this series the Ind and Pak bowlers are going to be at "bloody tired" on the knackered scale, but if all the batters had the same attitude as Sehwag and Afridi then the pitches being too good wouldn't matter much anyway (of course I mean about aggressive hitting, and not scuffing the pitch a la Afridi;))

Farewell Chris Cairns.:( I remember seeing him blast the England attack to get to the record number of sixes in Tests. Cricinfo says he's on 87, with Gilchrist equal.

The best way to get results on flatter than flat pitches would be to bury some unexploded ordnance on a good length, sure to liven up any high-scoring draw.:Potstir:

That might run the risk of the umpires calling off the match though which doesn't do much for the reputation of Test cricket.:(

What we ought to do is adopt a "limited overs test match" in which each side will play two innings of 100 overs each.

Whoever scores more, wins.:2cents:

a limited over match is based on overs while a test match is based on wickets.

in a test match, if 2 guys keeps batting all the time, that side cannot win, but neither can they lose. :D

Inzamam or bust!

If he is forced to sit out of the match with a bad back, sources close to the Indian team management are anticipating that some of the grass that currently remains on the wicket will be shaved off.

Irfan Pathan :kowt:

But Pakistan is fighting back. :wonder:

Shoaib Chukthar hit Tendy on the helmet but couldn't rattle him bowling at 150k+.

I dont think this match will last all five days. 14 wickets fell on day 1.

Well done to Path. Time for him to put the boot in with the bat. Hopefully him and Dhoni will put on about 770 or so tommorrow. :silence:

Pakistan have survived for 127 overs already for the loss of only 5 wickets, they're going to need to declare early tomorrow to give enough time to win with only about 80 overs being bowled each day.:yikes:

Blast their blooming backsides.

If Yuvraj could score a century why not those who earn millions from advertising endorsements?

If one wants to drive a Ferrari in India, he should be able to face Shoaib with his patently illegal action, the ICC and their 15-degree rule be damned.

Don't worry about it. It only makes the upcoming series with us more intriguing. I think we'll lose. You'll probably think you'll lose. Strange situation. ;)

A few days ago there was a story about lefties taking over the batting world. Other than the round-the-wicket tactics, there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to counter this - it's much more easy for right-handers to bat left-handed than it is for right-handers to bowl left-handed, so it seems left-handed batters will always outnumber lefty bowlers. Having lots of lefty batsmen doesn't guarantee success of course as the Windies shows, but imagine what Hussey might achieve if he could open the batting with Gilchrist.

That said, Smith is regularly being taken out LBW by fast swingers from Lee.:ninja:
