To his credit Kallis was really trying to go for it and wasn't dawdling. Soon the humble trundlers like him will be replaced by bowling machines programmed to send down yorkers at will, with the odd random full toss thrown in for variety. But with 11 batters in each side, the scores will still get huge.:D

Great read:

Some, maybe many, of us still believe you have the qualities to be a fine coach. Now show us our faith is not misplaced. :kowt:

Now that he's at the top of the pile, Lara seems positively uninterested in getting any more runs. Not that Sachin is going to catch him at this rate. Centuries all round no doubt on their way.

Geraint seems like the only one on the field who can catch now. How times have changed.:wonder:

The ICC just said they would be giving out fines if "sub-standard" pitches are prepared, so presumably any pitch that doesn't produce 1000 runs in a day is off-limits from now on.:kowt:

Ashamed to be Indian sometimes...

MANY a connoisseur of cricket may have come to believe, on Sunday, that the unthinkable has happened when Sachin Tendulkar was booed all the way back to the pavilion at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by sections of the crowd. But, in truth, it was unimaginable only because we may have failed to scratch the surface of our fast-evolving cricketing culture, only because we have probably failed to see the fast-emerging darkness in the very soul of a once-great culture, which is dumbing down rather alarmingly.

Trashing Tendulkar for an uncharacteristic failure is much like attempting to dismantle the Taj because one of its walls has developed a minor crack over time. It is simply not done. And the shocking incident in Mumbai says more about where we

If Tend doesn't want to be booed, he must score runs. He has batted like the poop of late and it isn't really good enough. He must bounce back or retire from test cricket.:(

some play for the country, some for the game and some even play for the girls. one cannot blame tendulkar for failing as it was not his type to win for india. ofcourse, everyone likes to win for their countries but there is a subtle difference. that subtle difference decides the result. tendulkar was like gavaskar. when gavaskar used to bat in ODI, some used to wish that he will lose his wicket because he used up too much of the overs. there was another guy, kapil dev who was a great all-rounder but he used to play for the country. if history repeats itself,

sunil gavaskar = tendulkar
kapil dev = saurav ganguly
ravi shastri = rahul dravid.

Shameless capitulation indeed. It was Udals record of violent misconduct that scared your chaps. :Bad:

Now the one day series. Will we win the first and lose all the others as usual?:wonder:

If Flintoff and Dravid hadn't been the opposing captains, one would have said the match was fixed. :wonder:

Kaif is bent on proving a point to the selectors.;)

That sounds ominous.

When you win the first match you usually lose the rest.
