Could Australia be finding ODI form at long last? :wonder:

Sniff.

More brilliance from Jayasuria has probably seen the West Indies knocked out of their own WC. :(

This is a disaster for West Indies cricket. All the stars are aligned against them. First India and Pakistan. Then the murder. Now the West Indies?!

The only professional team is the Aussie team. Witness how Pigeon bowls even if the opponent is Bangladesh. OZ deserves to win this cup.

South Africa is also playing well. Sri Lanka is a dark horse of some note. This World Cup has a strange flavour about it, Agnostic.

England lose heroically in the best English traditions.

Some might say it has the stench of death about it. :(

Not to worry. The game is bigger than the individual.

Cricket did not stop when WG Grace kicked the bucket, nor did it when the Don quit the game.

The same rule applies to the Tendulkars and the Pontings.

It is a wonderful game but right now it is being spoiled by the fixers.

Temporary phase in my opinion.

What do you know? An Indian is about to do a Kerry Packer act.

Joke doing the rounds in South India:

The Australian team says: "We are going to win the World Cup."

The South African team says: "We are going to the finals."

The English team says: "We are going to the semifinals."

The Indian team says: "We are going home."

The Pakistani team says: "We are going to jail."

Great for the Bangas.:kowt:

Another spirited performance by the Bangas, but not quite enough. England remain one of 2 or 3 sides unbeaten by them. But, I think we'll be off home shortly. If we make Rasel look like Glenn Mcgrath, the Saffers will mince us. :(

Australia are an awesome team. I Don't think they'll loes a WC match until 2011, at the earliest, and having not lost a WC game since 1999, that is a disturbingly long run.

I am so sad India (& Pakistan also) is out of super 8s :(

The way things are going Aus. will win the world cup again. Only serious contender to Aus. is Sri Lanka. They have the best bowling attack of any team, are a good fielding side and their batting lineup, while not as good as Aus batting, is good enough.

Not too confident about SA's (chokers, nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory:P in the SL match) or NZ's (except Bond no other quality bowler, maybe Vettori) chances.

Ireland beat Bangas!!!

St. Patrick must have played that match.;)

My money is on a SL vs OZ final.

Deadlyfork is right. SAF are chokers.

I would like SL to beat OZ--just for a change, someone has to beat them.

I think that Sri Lanka and Australia will be the finalists, the Saffers and obviou/sly the Kiwis will fall in the semis. But, if Sri Lanka play has they have today, we might as well not bother holding a final. :( 188/8

The theory in the subcontinent is that they deliberately lost while leaving Murali out of the match to make the convicts complacent.:scrollhah

I dont buy that, mind you.

I reckon it'll be Oz vs. SL in the final. Even if the Kiwis beat us,next game, I don't think they'll get to 1st place, so Oz vs. SA in the semi at a small ground. SL should beat the Kiwis in Jamaica (out bowl them). Would love to be in Bridgetown for the final:cheers:

Doesn't matter who your opponent is, they'll just be destroyed in the usual fashion. Awesome to watch, but not especially exciting. Still, it won't forever, although 12 years of continual WC victories can seem like forever. :respekt:
