Nasser's just resigned as England's one-day
captain. He says that he no longer warrants a
starting place; judging by his recent form I'd
agree with this assesment.

Vaughnie, Trescothic, Collingwood.... hmmmmm.

Pukestan is out of the tournament.
Now it is Australia, India and Zimbabwe from Group A.
Versus
Sri Lanka, Kenya(LOL, just thrashed by 142 runs by the Windies:rolleyes: ), and New Zealand from Group B.
Where're your wagers, gentlemen?

Well, seeing as England have been taken out of contention, I shall be transferring my endorsment to the Ozzies I think.

And a good alleiegance decision too!

Have to agree with you about the series rules, but..... they all agreed to them! I do agree with Imran Khan's comments on the bbc that somebody should fix up Paki cricket, T'was a wonder to waqtch Miandad (the bastard) and Khan and the rest from the 80s. They should be conscripted to coach. They knew the fights they were up against.

talked to my local convenience store guy (Indian) he said "who cares if we're in the 6s, WE BEAT PAKISTAN"

It would be anathema for an Englishman to back
those ball-n-chain convicts; therefore my
allegiance is now with the only country on
earth that could produce both the Karma Sutra
and the game of chess simultaneously - INDIA.

Nice to know that the Barmy Army will be cheering for us. India versus Australia in the final would be nice.
But as Trav's convenience store bro said, we beat Pakistan so who cares about the finals.:D :D :D
From now on its only a game, its no longer war.
I've got a thousand bucks on India, and a "covering bet" of 500 on the Ozzies. Local betting is getting crazy. A lot of punters are betting on Sri Lanka. NZ, sadly, has no takers. It would be poetic justice if they lift the cup.

Australia were facing their second major World Cup blow on Wednesday with injured fast bowler Jason Gillespie due to announce his withdrawal from the tournament. Gillespie, who is set to hold a news conference when he is expected to announce his departure, had a scan on his injured right heel on Tuesday after missing the world champions' last two Group A games.

Australia is even money, India is 3:1, Sri Lanka is 5:1, NZ is 10:1
Unofficial betting in rupees not dollars.;)
No one can prevent Indians from gambling, drinking and making love.

SL 46/1 (in 10 overs) for no loss with Jayasuriya in hospital after being hit by Lee. Kenya 32/0 in 8 overs.

Calling all convicts on this thread; is it just me
--- or does it appear that the only guys to give
the aussies a decent game have been England.

They've literally destroyed everyone else. It
would be just England's luck to have gone out
against the top two teams in the tournament.

Just wait for us to come through, Gos.
We'll tie 'em up in knots.
Brett Lee versus Sachin Tendulkar should be interesting.

BTW, All the other forums seem so depressing. You have the usual America bashers having a go all the time, but nothing else of note. All the decent folk seem to gravitate towards the Culture forum.

Lankans won't get there, especially w/o Jayasuria.
Kenya match looks interesting, let's see if their bowlers can restrict India?

No question. The only ones to make 'em sweat have been England. An triumph in itself. ;)

Bad luck Gilchrist. :D
