Adam Gilchrist will wear pink wicket-keeping gloves in the first Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to raise awareness for breast cancer research, it was reported by the media here Wednesday.

Pink gloves for breast cancer research.

And the US boys' cricket team is to play in India.

"India wants to see if the Americans are serious cricket players or a bunch of pampered kids."

That's just gay, no matter how you look at it. :D

In the meantime, Dilshan and Vass score more runs than all of England in the first innings. Bring back Fletcher. :(

Too late for that. What we need to do is invent an entirely new silly game which it will take the rest of the world a century to learn.

BTW shouldn't this thread be in Religion? There's a lot of irrational belief here...

Groups of Australians spent the afternoon wondering whether they were being unpatriotic for smiling when India started running through the home team. For the first session those local supporters who demand nothing but dominance by Ricky Ponting's men were satisfied with the direction of the game. Their disgruntlement when it changed in the second session was offset by the joy felt - and heard - at the ground by cricket supporters who are desperate to see Australia challenged. After the first day there is hope this series might be the fair fight fans have been craving since the 2005 Ashes.

Pleasing everyone at once.

Meanwhile Windies are 198/3 against the Boks.

Went to the 3rd day. One of the Indian fielders was behaving like a sook all morning. Singh, I think it was. He wouldn't run for the ball and looked pissed off the whole time. Except for that, the Indian team is trying hard and fighting all the way. Kumble is having a good one. I wanted to stay to see a Golchrist six. But I stayed to see a Hogg six.

The MCG pitch is tricky this time. They play Australian Rules football during the winter at the MCG and that is when all the money flow in, so the AFL (football code) rules. And they don't want a muddy centre for football in the winter. So the clay cricket pitches are grown separately and then put in about October (our late spring). Must cost a fortune.

Tendulkar was batting well. He was the only batsman so far to make it look relatively easy. Hayden fought hard for his century. Kumble is playing great.

Game over.

Hogg had the Indian middle order bamboozled. Tendulkar once again looked like he might get a score, but failed. Everyone over here wants him to well as its the last time we will see him. Maybe in South Australia. The pitcjhes there are docile and draws are usually the go.
