"And Steve Waugh is on record as saying that he wished he had Walsh's body for at least a day"

I assume that he means in a cricketing sense. ;)

Wales match is coming up again. Hope we can do better than last time. :o

Yes, that tour was certainly too long, coming right after the world cup. It just burns players out.

Eng 124/2 :)

Chester-le-street is supposed to be just five miles from Washington, just north of Quebec, and due east of Philadelphia - all villages in North Durham.:D :D :D

England headed for 500 plus. Hussain is hitting boundaries at will.

If Butcher gets a ton that'll be his third in a row I believe. Hope that Vaughan picks up a bit by the time the SAfricans arrive.

David Gower is commentating on the match right now and for some reason he seems unhappy with Butcher's strokeplay. As long as he keeps getting his runs I dont see why Gower should criticise his technique.

Apparently he's right! butcher's out.
Gower was an elegant batsman. He and Greg chapel had very similar form, could have been mirrors!

Butcher plays with a crossbat and that is liable to get you into trouble sooner or later. At least that is what the coaching manual says.

Other Flower? Andy Flower? He retired from Test cricket after his courageous protest against Mugabe. Still plays for a county side I think. And Streak is due in after Blignaut.
