You gotta be joking, Trav.
If the Ozzies were real sportsmen, Waugh would bat left handed and ask Lee and McGrath to bowl leg spin.:D

BTW, When Steve Waugh decides to retire, he is welcome to join as coach of the Indian team.:)

The first (and as far as I know, only) intance of one player scoring double centuries in both innings of a matches. Perhaps inevitably the match was drawn.

:)

A lot of the players from Essex would have decided to take up football instead of cricket after this match.:D

OK so bet 365 has SA over 4 to win the nexttest and Eng under 2. What do the real bookies say? I reckon SA have as good a chance to draw or win.

Trav,
The heart favours Blighty. After all, my nephew plays cricket in Birmingham.;) I'd bet on England even if they were rank outsiders.:D

1633: The Gibbs/Smith opening partnership is now the eighth highest in Test history, having eclipsed that between Jack Hobbs and Wilfred Rhodes. Incredibly, the pair at wicket in Edgbaston own one of those marks still ahead of them - a 368 stand against Pakistan earlier this year.

they are also the first opening partnership to have two 300 run partnerships, apparently.

Ive only seen the last half an hour or so of the cricket - what happened? Whos to blame for such a poor english performance.

I think south africa are about 340-1.

This series might see the end of hussain, gough and stewart.

About time, I'd say. Vaughan is doing a good job in the one-dayers. No reason why he shouldn't be Test captain.

Nearly 400/1.

Please somebody, shoot me through the head. :(

Stewart has already anouned that he is retiring from test cricket at the end of this series. I don't think that this will be the end of Gough at all. Every bowler failed, so why single out Gough, who has already proved his worth?

As for Nasser, this is early days. We could get a draw in this match, weather permitting (:)), and we could still win the series.

Personally, I blame a good batting pitch, and uninspired bowling for this little problem, not captaincy.

Only just seen the Banga's score against Ozzies. Very good performance by the looks of it, for them anyway. Keep it up. :D

Even though I'm an Aussie, I'd like to see the Baanga's stick it up them. It would ruffle a few tail feathers me thinks.

Hmmm ... so now all we have to do is bat for
two sessions ... 321 being out of the question.

However 'all' is something we have trouble
with. Another long innings by Mr R. Ain batting
at 3 should suffice. ;)
