The 2 tier idea is interesting. In my opinion, it couldn't work with only 8 test playing nations. 6 countries would have to be in the top tier with skills ranging from good to excellent, whereas the lower tier would just see the dire Bangas and Zimbabwe slugging it out all the time. ;)

It would work well with 10 or 12 countries. Perhaps admitting Holland and Kenya. Even Scotland or Canada or the USA?

Holy Poop! Vaughany's been injured!!!!!  :( :( :(

That is bad news. Tresco will probably replace him, somewhat ironic as Nass is in the team. :)

Could be quite good. I suppose. Not so keen on the titile though. Nobody can run out Tendulkar? It's unthinkable. :)

NZ 284/5 Mixed success.

Yeah NZ should have done better, still Oram and Cairns are in great form so NZ might reach 400 yet.

Englands bowlers just kept plugging away accurately on a batters pitch, i think 400 is the min NZ needs to score.

NZ 386ao despite the maginificence from Cairns. :) Eng 246/2. to be honest I expected Tuffey to cause us many more problems than he so far has.

Eng 282/3. Victory by 7 wickets. I'm not quite sure how we managed that, but we did. All credit to Nass, Strauss and Thorpy! Strauss man of da match. :) Pity he was run out...

Now we have to figure how to tackle 007.

Whiel England didnt dominate the test they kept up relentless pressure and were always a nose in front. NZ batters fell about 50-60 runs short IMHO and should have done better.

I dont think Bond will make much more of an impact. Still theres definate room for improvement from the kiwis, well see how they go if they pick themselves up after the loss.

Nass just had a rebirth. He would have been dumped had he not scored that 100. The Kiwis will be back stronger in the next encounter and 007 will be a potent strike force. An interesting series is on.

The Kiwis probably will hit back stronger next time (although I expected the WIndies to do so and they sort of didn't), but they won't have Bond. Prolonged back pain apparently. :(

Gary Sobers believes that Harmy could be the best player England have produced for yonks. Perhaps the ultimate compliment. Presumably he meant with the ball. :) :D :P ;)

Gary Sobers is the best there is as a benchmark for wannabe allrounders, but as a judge of men, he is, as John McEnroe would put it, the pits.:D

Making way for the music of Strauss.

Thanks Nass. You've done everybody proud, including the city where you were born.:)

Goodbye Nass...

Timing is very good. The manner perfect. I dare say the selectors will be able to sleep easy again. :D

Surreys timber minder appears to have found out that he can equal the world record of 8 dismissals in an innings, Kent being on the recieving end. :)

Any views on the ICC's proposal for a 2 of maybe 3 tier system for international matches? Not a bad idea in my mind (such as it is:D). :)

The Yanks seem to be in need of some batting practise...

And the Bangas appear to have done better in their first innings again the WI than we did in all but our final innings. That bugs me somewhat. 2 batters have entered the realms of tonnage. :)

Davison appears to have beaten the Yanks into submission with a 17-fer. Now maybe he'll do the same in the Whitehouse. :D

This Davidson bloke seems to be a one-man army that just took the Yanks apart.

Meanwhile, Nass is taking his new job as TV commentator quite seriously.

We need more plain speakers like Nass around. Racism is bad, never mind what colour it is, white or black or brown or yellow.

Not selecting someone because he is white is as bad as not selecting someone because he is black.
