As a representative of all 100% true blue, red-blooded, ethno-centric Americans, may I say, "What the Hell Are You Guys Talking About?"

Indeed. The only Cricket we know goes, 'chirp chirp,' or perhaps was a member of Buddy Holly's band.

Yes Ag:
Know it well. but it's a bit slow sometime.
babu: as one of those americans you represent, you'll find cricket is a fascinating sport if you study it and learn to play.

we should have a little unity at school tommorow. the kids are mostly of pakistani origin so they will be supporting england against india.
Agnostic (and any other india posters) good luck, but not to much of it!

Well interesting scenarios looming. Somebody ends up 4-1 somebody 3-2.Poms then have to play aussies and the currymunchers fight out the rest. Barring any stunning upsets or cases of Jo'burg Jaundice I see the top three the same. Pakis are having a hard time with Inzamam seemingly gone on holidays. What do you reckon???

Now, on the B side:
Windies v lanka a crucial match for both. Likewise SA v Lanka. lanka can blow the whole enchilada if they have the same form as the last game.
Kenya have a chance v Bangladesh would like to see 'em in the six!
Kiwis have to win em both, and most likely will.
Hard to pick the top 3 any comers?

Im now going to try and answer every post theres been since i was last here.

Traveller Im not entirely sure what your saying in your last two posts but here are my predictions.

Pool A
1)Australia
2)India
3)England

But if zimbabwe beats pakistan then england could be in trouble.

Pool B is very close, the srilankans play both south africa and the west indies in their next two game which will decide alot, hopefully that rained off game wont hamper the windies but if they beat the srilankans they should go through.

PoolB

1) Windies
2) Srilanka
3) New Zealand

but if srilanka beats the windies kenya could go through

1) Srilanka
2) New Zealand
3) Kenya

Of course the south africans could still qualify its too tough to call. Ill predict super six forward once, the qualifiers are over (Australias still going to win it though)

Traveller what is the " old dart " anyway?

As i said before you can check the live commentries at the baggy green site acb.com and the bbc has good online coverage.

It's at this time ( India 155-3 ) that I feel most
strongly about the theft of the points by the
ICC in favour of that bloody tyrannt Mugabe.

We should already be home 'n' hosed -- not
nail biting our way along this knife-edge!

Since we got Mongia out (who got 32 from 66 balls), Y Singh has come in a smashed 35 off 32 balls. Do you think that we should have tried to not get Mongia out? :)

traveller i've never heard of that term before.

Zxb with hindsight it seems like a good idea but that tactic rarely if ever works. With india on 231-5 after 48 thats not to out of hand say they get 250 at most thats certainly reachable with a bit of effort.

India 247/5 with 5 balls remaining. Total will be over 250, which is gettable, but it will be difficult. At least we have gained some experience against the Indian bowlers last summer. We will hope and pray.

Great last over. 3 wickets and a run out in 4 balls from Caddick. Don't suppose that counts as a hatric though. :(

I was though counting on us actually scoring some runs one day, you know, to get ahead of the Indian total. 4 runs from 20 balls will be enough.

250 a modest total for England.
Let's hope that all the guns fire here today.

Sorry ted, it could have been a phrase I picked up from some of my Pommie mates at the Bowlo.
