This is a fantastic way to waste bandwidth and server space....glad the russians are paying for it.

>>If Plsek could do it all along, why didn't she? Doesn't make any sense<<

Plsek didn't feel like hacking the place maybe, and waited until the Admin actually bothered to listen to her..

Posters would offer their assistance every now and then, some even sent emails apparently. No replies they said.

Things aren't completely fixed, search function only goes back to november 5th (i will keep going on about that), cyrillic fonts, re-organising the thread lists..

Why do you need all these things working anyway?

Because they';re useful. Having a search function that searches the whole of the archives is nifty, and it can imrpove functionality and ease of use if you can re-organise the threads (finding a lost thread by using alphabetical order of poster for example). These things worked at one time, then sometime in October or whatever the front page was changed, creating a whole horrible messy white background, and we lost more options. I don't see why we can't have the forum's front page just like it used to be, like the Russian forum still has. They just changed ours whithout bothering to tell us why, and yet more options disappeared.

I might be premature when I said I'd like the place back to how it used to look, but if you need to ask me why I want the forum's options working properly again then we're not really going to see eye to eye on this.

search function will be tough (i'd imagine, don't know the software myself; i mean if it's impossible to fix don't bother with it, i can live without it, but it would be nice..:)

As for the Russian fonts, I had the idea of simply copying the appropriate data from the Russian forum over to here (don't know if that is possible, again i've no nolij of the software...)

See DownWithFacism's thread here for encoding clues:

And my scrambled Cyrillic code might be useful too (i hope not, since there are a few mistakes...)

box, eh :)

That's the problem, we don't have an Admin moniker who both knows what is to be done and also spends time here working it out.
