This oaf is a straight jackass, johnny walker lindh type. I take that back, Lindh had a little sense...it was just (non)sense.

If you really knew (anything) about America, you would understand we really don't care about the actual "founding father's"; what we adore and cherish are the universal ideals that these men proffered to the world at great sacrifice, and profit, to themselves.

Justice, Equality, Freedom!

So we haven't quite mastered all of it yet. Consider the youth of our nation. In the short time of our existence, we have remade parts of the social world utilizing the pre-existing merits of every known culture.

It's all here: every nationality, religeon, and ideology...and somehow we manage to make it all work.

Do not mock what you do not understand.

I agree with the seventy percent. Countries overseas , meaning NOT North America, have existed for thousands of years with almost constant wars.

If two countries want a war, let em blow each other up. With todays weaponry that wont take long, and maybe when one or two countries are gone and are dustbins, the rest will see that modern warfare is no way to settle disputes. It is too final.

That is a lesson America needs to learn as well...Owl

From: "LET'S BE PERSONAL" Broadcast June 5, 1973 CFRB, Toronto, Ontario

Topic: "The Americans"

As long as sixty years ago, when I first started to read newspapers, I read of floods on the Yellow River and the Yangtse. Who rushed in with men and money to help? The Americans did.

They have helped control floods on the Nile, the Amazon, the Ganges and the Niger. Today, the rich bottom land of the Misssissippi is under water and no foreign land has sent a dollar to help. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy, were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of those countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When distant cities are hit by earthquakes, it is the United States that hurries into help... Managua Nicaragua is one of the most recent examples. So far this spring, 59 American communities have been flattened by tornadoes. Nobody has helped. The Marshall Plan .. the Truman Policy .. all pumped billions upon billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now, newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent war-mongering Americans.

I'd like to see one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplanes. Come on... let's hear it! Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tristar or the Douglas 107? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all international lines except Russia fly American planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or women on the moon?

You talk about Japanese technocracy and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy and you find men on the moon, not once, but several times ... and safely home again. You talk about scandals and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everyone to look at. Even the draft dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, most of them ... unless they are breaking Canadian laws .. are getting American dollars from Ma and Pa at home to spend here.

When the Americans get out of this bind ... as they will... who could blame them if they said 'the hell with the rest of the world'. Let someone else buy the Israel bonds, Let someone else build or repair foreign dams or design foreign buildings that won't shake apart in earthquakes. When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name to you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble.

Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbours have faced it alone and I am one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of these. But there are many smug, self-righteous Canadians. And finally, the American Red Cross was told at its 48th Annual meeting in New Orleans this morning that it was broke. This year's disasters .. with the year less than half-over has taken it all and nobody...but nobody... has helped.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Americans are people too.
I think they want everyone to enjoy the freedoms they do.
Those freedoms bring peace, stability, and prosperity.

If it weren't for them, what would the world really look like?
No government is perfect. All have committed atrocities.

I refuse to get into we did, you did, so just twi examples.

Canada was there after the California earthquake that left so much devistation and death. We help rescue, and clean up.

Canada was there in some major forest fires I recall, water bombing, men in the bush digging, axing etc.

And Canada was first there after nine one one. I recall twoo hundred or more Canadian firefighter volunteers being turned away from helping there.

To my knowledge, just as America has helped Canada in nearly every emergency, so has Canada helped America unless we were told no help was needed.

Thank you very much asshole...Owl

American Eagle,

It seems that from the hight you see things things look very rosy in America,
the America you read about and never took the trouble to discover and examine first hand.

There is very little or not Justice in America
There are all sorts of injustices and crimes commited by americans in the name of justice daily.
There is even less Equality between the well connected and the anglo-saxon
and so called whites and between the colored to black races.
That is why there had to be new laws made against discriminations for those
that are less equal in your society.
Freedom is the greatest delusion sold to Americans.
They have practically non, but are only free to conform in their beliefs and behavior. Americans are free to dress differently, but not to think or have an alternative life style.
Freedom in America? ha, ....... wake up men.
Americans do not even let other states be different from them, If they do not
comply, they are bombed.

Americans are the Biggest evil on the planet, that is on it way to take away
everyones freedom to be themselves and sovereign.

Americans are sick, they call their slavery Freedom, and occupying and supressing other civilizations and nations LIBERATION.

Owl,
Wow, pretty personal.
That article was written by a Canadian who has lived longer and seen more than you and I.
Is Canada perfect. No hatred, crime, injustice.
If that's true, why do we get most of the immigration?
I am glad my president is not sitting by waiting for the next attack.
Just like most other people in the world, we want security for our children.
Also, the vast majority of Iraqis outside of Iraq want the US to go.
Also many of the middle eastern people I know wondered why we didn't finish the job last time.
We are suckers, always trying not to offend.
Sure we are becoming more socialistic every day, but I think that pendulem will swing so far, and then...
I wonder, how long would you let a criminal go who has weapons and says he is going to kill your family?
You could talk to him... until your dead.

Of all the garbage that has been posted by know-it-alls in this forum, this is the worst. My guess is that someone turned this creep down when he asked for a date, and he spews his venom here because he can't do much elsewhere.
Begone, moron, and take your bongo drums with you.
If you have anything specific to say about America, list it and see the response you get. Blind anti-Americanism will get you nowhere.
Next time you come out with your holier-than-thou vituperative sewer garbage, you will find your threads die with zero responses.
Go hump a camel.

Most Americans have not been outside the US, and if they have they are kept
isolated from the locals in their military bases or in the Hotels, so they remain
blind to where they are even when 'out in the world'.
So what can one expect from people that are enprisoned all their life by their
life style and priviledge. I think it was the Indians that put the curse on them, to remain blind for eternity and see never the real sun or the real stars.
I suppose that is why they need all those stars from Holliwood, and confuse
their president with the Sun ( the all seeing, all knowing, all wise).
What a joke has been played on them.
One does not know weather to laugh at tnem or pitty them and their blindness.
Yet the stupid and blind can be dangerous if one assumes they are smart and seeing and should be followed.
Can you imagine the blind leading the seeing.
That is what Americans like to do.
Be the Leader of the World.

But it is no use telling the hallucinating that there is a world outside their own
delusions, and that America is not the center of the Universe, but rather an
oversized Insane Assylum, where all the criminals and undesiribles are shipped by the saner nations.

One out of every 4 Iraqi infants is malnourished. ? Chronic malnutrition among children under five has reached 27.5%. After a child reaches two or three years of age, chronic malnutrition is difficult to reverse and damage on the child's development is likely to be permanent." -- UNICEF and World Food Programme (WFP), May 1997

"Iraq's health system is close to collapse because medicines and other life-saving supplies scheduled for importation under the 'oil-for-food' deal have not arrived. ? Government drug warehouses and pharmacies have few stocks of medicines and medical supplies. The consequences of this situation are causing a near-breakdown of the health care system, which is reeling under the pressure of being deprived of medicine, other basic supplies and spare parts." World Health Organizations (WHO), February 1997.

Now who was it they said controlled it here?

They have the power to make a genius look like a blooming idiot or the reverse.

Most Americans get their news and form their opinions off the front page only.

Was Sharon correct?...'Don't worry about the US Government-we own it!'

I think so.

The pen is mightier than the sword-and the pen runs amuck here.

LifeisGood,

I am glad you asked that question,

because I found out that most people visit

this thread in order to go to my URL

and look at the pictures listen to the music

and join or read the discussions in Symposium on my Bulletin Board,

where the subject discussed are much more interesting and important to our life.
