Xylitol Maple syrup recipe.

Homemade Low Carb Pancake Syrup: Ingredients

1/2 cup xylitol (from hardwood, not from GMO corn)
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon liquid stevia ~ I like toffee stevia
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
1/2 teaspoon butter extract optional
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon glucomannan powder


Homemade Low Carb Pancake Syrup: Method

Place the xylitol and water in a small saucepan. Place on the stovetop and heat it up until the xylitol is melted. Do not bring to a boil.

Add the stevia, maple favor and butter and vanilla flavor if using. Mix and combine well.

Add 1/4 teaspoon of glucomannan and mix well. Add more if you want a thicker syrup.

Too much Xylitol can cause liver failure.   Xylitol is fine in toothpaste and mouthwash, but not so good as a food product.

 

Better substitute:   Honey.

No way I would use stevia or any other artificial sweetener in anything
