Aznar, Blair and Bush read the riot act to the French; and to the UN, "Put up or shut up!" The UN has probably 48 hours to show some spine. And the French have been snookered! Again!

If the French and the UN fail, the UN will be invited to serve the only purpose they are suitable for, welfare; and the French will have to forage for themselves. Chirac has marched France to Moscow again.

Blair and Aznar stand tall among the leaders of Europe.

**********

Not even if they wore 3 foot high platform shoes! It was a gathering of mental midgets who will run around like rats in a firestorm once the proverbial s hit hits the fan.

Blair will be in a lunatic asylum before this is all over. He's on "day release" now and he doesn't even know it. Sad.

USA will loose whatever they do, ofcourse they will win the "war" but incase of respect and trust USA have lost, takes decades if at all to build it up tho it will never be the same kinda respect as they gained after WW2.
Sad but true,

Saddam will become an Martyr, whatever they do.

The controversy over Iraq will bring a dark, poisonous mood to the annual EU spring summit in Brussels on Thursday and Friday where Blair, Chirac, Aznar and Schroeder will gather around the table.

There could be the first row over whether the EU will pay towards reconstructing Iraq after the war.

Iraq has the resources to pay for its own reconstruction. However, there may not be enough left in the till to pay off any debts incurred by Saddam, and that may cause great pain among the Axis Of Weasels...

Yup, Russia shall take over the Iraq oil fields till the Sddadm debth is paid in full plus the accumulated interest (they had some 6 billion debth in the 80, what means some hundred billon nowdays). If the US quizling refuse Russia will incapacitate the oil wells by gumping polymerizing chemicals, one by one till the dufuses agree. Then cosidering that most of the Iraq oil infarastructure is Russian build, there shall be serious royalty paid too.

The UN doesn't exist simply to greenlight every US military adventure. The right to veto, or vote against any country is clearly written, or did the US forget that part? Damn inconvenient when they won't be a yes man to war.

I don't think so this time, Diogenes. Powell was kept busy on a Sunday morning talk show. This summit was to tell the UN, "No more BSing around!" And to tell France, "We're taking names...!" And to tell Saddam, "We're comming...!"

beta,

The UN doesn't exist simply to greenlight every US military adventure.

You're absolutely right! It was intended to prevent the uneccessary death of millions like in Rowanda and Bosnia - which in its miserable incarnation, it didn't!!!!

Read! Pay attention! And learn just a little bit beyond your nose!~~~

I saw the conference. Bush and Blair came out with both guns blazing. They are taking no prisoners and Bush laid it on the line. France is going to pay through the nose for their treachery. They will rue the day they bucked Bush on this one.

I spent three years over in France. I saw them up close and personal for the snakes in the grass they truly are. This time the whole world sees it. After this Iraqi mess is over, I hope that Bush and Rumsfeld come up with ingeneous ways to really stick it to the French for they surely deserve it. At the very least we should discourage American travel to France as we "can't guarantee their safety." Losing that tourist trade could in and of itself throw the French economy into reverse. It is already hurting in the tourism industry, we could make it a damn sight worse and should.
