Sensible shoes??

Sounds more like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. PK, I always envisioned you with outback shoes, clod hoppers we call 'em. And A machete that could down a kangaroo if it got too close.

My image is shattered.

Would it help to tell you that when I go to do the shopping I ride a crocodile and use a tiger snake for a whip? (From an old, old joke!)

Now I have to wear the twinset and pleated skirt too, it just won't be the same! I may not "scare the horses", I'll scare the poor crocodile instead!

"Whoa, Dobbin!"

I think you mean Blundstone shoes, Beat....we call 'em Blundies!

Strangely, riding boots, at least the ankle length ones, do resemble Blundies. I can't remember if I gave my riding boots away or if they are still lurking around the shed somewhere. YES! I did once ride horses, but that was in New Zealand, not here!

Speaking of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz. We don't pronounce Australia as AWstralia. We say UHstralia...I know, but it sounds nicer <g>. This is why you will often see an Aussie refer to Australia as "Oz"...sort of short for......

Another thing, what is the connection between gay people and the words "Surrender Dorothy". I've come across it several times in American books, but it's never explained.

All right,

My image has been restored.

However, Dorothy and the Rainbow Coalition is new news for me.

It could just be modern hype.

InsideB, we are very sharp! <g>

I was talking on the telephone to my friend, Universo, last night. You would all like her very much. As she is French you could even converse with her in that language!

We were discussing what our Foreign Affairs Minister said on TV the other night about the WMD (the same as Wolfowitz as a matter of fact) and the WAY he said it!

At one stage it dawned on me that he is so arrogant and stupid and full of his own importance - that he even makes Shrubya look good! When I pointed this out to Gisele, we both collapsed into giggles! Yes, people, there is someone on this planet sillier than Shrubya!

I like that saying. Downer is certainly silly. He only got into Parliament because he "inherited" his father's seat. Along with all his money!

But Saddam, doesn't it give you the warm and fuzzies to know that there is one person in the world who is more stupid and arrogant? I feel very proud that once again we have outdone a country with a much larger population! We did it in sport and now we are doing it in politics! LOL
