Raffphi,

Malheureusement, cela n'existe que dans les reves.

If you want a more pacifistic America vis-a-vis the world, sorry. That's one wish not even the tooth fairy can supply. Our government seems to think that WMDs and all out aggression is the only way to treat international issues.

FINIST SM-92 is a new light monoplane developed by the Moscow-based TEKHNOLOGIA
designers. Eight such planes are already off assembly lines in Voronezh southeast of
Moscow.

It's the world's only one-seater in its class. A 30-mm cannon on board (tested in desert conditions in Saudi
Arabia and already exported) completely outclasses in accuracy the one carried by the US copter gunship
APACHE and also the one being developed for the reconnaissance and ground-attack gunship COMANCHE
(at least as far as can be judged by available reports).Interestingly, COMANCHE's designers are following the
canon concept implemented in KAMOV 50.
KAMOV 50 carries laser-guided anti-tank missiles VIKHR (Whirlwind) which pierce the strongest
armour now in use.

It also carries guided air-to-air missiles IGLA-V (Needle C), already extensively tested and sold to buyers
abroad. The Shark's avionics is largely in line with what is the norm for one-seater fighters and ground attack jets.
It's most remarkable feature is a remote targeting system with a capability to provide for a sudden deadly attack
from a distance that rules out direct visual contact with the target.

c2w,

People's army is the only way to go. Anything else is a bunch of poorly motivated paid bandits who should not be treated like soldiers but like criminals by the opposing forces!

the Geneva Convention does not apply to paid mob or murderers!

Do you have more CIA's CNN paddled propaganda?

Look what good Russian aircraft did for Iraq, without it the Americans would of just walked into Baghdad.
Gotta ask yourself why didn't they fly?

Did Saddam learn of their unmatchable destructability, if they where any good why not use them?

Alo on those stats given for each plane does it doesn't mention communication and Radar systems.
Maybe cause it is classifed but I don't think that comparrision would come favourably for the Beloved Mig's

Bul-ov-it,

The Iraqis didn't fly because they knew they'd be shot down in seconds after take off.

Let's see, I'm a highly skilled, highly trained pilot for the Iraqi Air Force. I get the command from up high, "Fly against these Yankee dogs."

I look up in the sky and see the might of the American military ready to shoot my *** down the second I rev up those engines. Will I:

a) Fly to certain death just to prove that I am an Iraqi

B) pretend that I have mononuclewhatever to avoid cetain death?

I don't know ---- You guys are the genious

Tell me why NO ONE flew for Iraq.

Radar with three-dimensional image of objects

Russian scientists have built a radar to give a clear three-dimensional image of objects at sea at depths of
up to 1.5 km and determine their exact location. The radar, "Hydra", "draws" a detailed map of the seabed,
locates sunken ships and can spot a lost cable, a diver, a shark and even a small fish. It "sees" any object
provided its size is not smaller than a tennis ball. As compared to the existing analogues the radar is smaller and
lighter weighing a mere 4 kg.

wow those Russians did it again!

Sorry,
I meant in Desert Storm 1 "the awakeing" why did they not fly, or if they did, did they do any good? Real question.

I never heard much about American pilots being shot down except by ground fire.
I remeber hearing something like 10,000 Iraqi ground troops in a day to no American loses, not sure if it was true but at worst it has to be an exaggeration.

So how did they get their arses so servely kicked while flying the best hardware available?

Surely they would of got some kills in Desert Storm 1, provide examples and prove me wrong, cause I really don't know what I am talking about,
but as we are asking why it is so hard to understand, I think it is hard because we haven't heard of them being used successfully?
Until your reply that is,

Eagerly awaiting.
