Movie: The Witness. In this award-winning film, Eddie Lama
explains how he feared and avoided animals for most of his life, until the love of a kitten opened his heart, inspiring him to rescue abandoned animals and bring
his message of compassion to the streets of New York. One metropolitan newspaper calls The Witness "the most important and
persuasive
film about animals ever made."

I have rescued a Ferret that had either been escaped or had been dumped,
She is beautiful and I have called her Aisha (she that lives).
And no, I know that some loon has tried to market vegan ferret food but it is cruel to make a ferret eat anything other than meat. The only vegetable content in a ferrets diet is from the stomach content of animals lower down the food chain. Vegetables do not contain the things ferrets need, they give them the shits and put them out of condition.

Wali, I think you can also feed ferrets commercial cat food, as the protein content is about right for them. We had a ferret for a while that got lost and turned up at my ex-husband's job site. We just gave it cat food.

Good quality cat food is ok but it makes there shit runny and stink of cake mix (not good cake, bad cake that will make you feel poorly if you eat it). When I first found her she was starved and scared and ate a lot of my hand.

Well, at least she got some good, high quality protein.

 I didn't catch that until you did.

VJ, don't forget the cod liver oil. It's a ferret's catnip. Not sure why, but they will do anything for a few drops of cod liver oil (sold in pet stores under a variety of brand names). And when you put it away, they will continue to lick your fingers just in case they missed a microdrop somewhere. Can't tell you about the nutritional benefits, but it's hilarious! Vet school kid and her menagerie (including a ferret) are home for the holidays.

Thanks for that, Ferretone is a proprietary supplement and is mostly cod liver oil. I am off to buy her some now.

Ferrets are so much fun! They're related to skunks so even when they are descented they need a bath every so often.

We had another ferret a few years ago (he died of old age since) and we got him a ferret collar and leash and took him on walks. Ferrets don't really walk, they do this hoppy thing which is very amusing. He was a joy!

Anyway, best of luck to you with your new ferret. You won't regret it!

sb11, I read your postings with respect and I understand your reasons for protest. I don't agree with your negative comments sometimes. Cascade I think you don't respect anyone because you hate yourself and take it out on anyone.:kowt:

Thanks for that, I do have a shredder and it is always on in the standby mode. My ferret Aysha is very currious with everything.
The Shredder is now off.
