I too remember it well. I was working in some office in Ballarat and we had the radio on the whole time. Thommo did great. Too bad.
Even though we still got our arses kicked after that, I always felt that match was a watershed for Australian cricket. We salvaged some pride that match.

Timid umpiring has cost Shane Warne at least seven wickets in this series. Repeatedly, legitimate appeals for leg before have been rejected, sometimes with only the most cursory of glances. In several of these cases the batsman has been plumb in front. Often they have not attempted a stroke, a neglect that in less dainty days incurred the wrath of red-blooded umpires like Darrell Hair, whose attitude towards these dismal souls is commendable.
