Everyone Is Going To Jail

By Jeff Berwick | The Dollar Vigilante

As we watch the military-style police roll out in Missouri this week I have some bad news – we are all at risk for being kidnapped and thrown in a cage. We know we usually harp on how bad it is getting in the US, but all over the western world people are being thrown in jail for what would be laughable reasons if this were not real life.

Let’s be straightforward –  the US incarcerates staggering numbers of individuals.

And the trend shows this is only going to get worse:

Even companies are at risk, like FedEx. The Justice Department filed charges against FedEx Corp accusing it of conspiracy to launder money in connection with its prescription-drug case against the package-delivery concern. Basically, FedEx is in trouble for not acting as an arm of law enforcement. So, by extension, if any of us don’t act as agents of the state, we could be going to jail. If FedEx can, anyone can!

Want to get an idea of just how out of hand it is getting? Here are some straightforward examples.

1. Woman jailed for not returning 2005 video rental

A South Carolina woman, Kayla Michelle Finley, spent a night in jail this year for failing to return a VHS tape she rented in 2005 of a Jennifer Lopez movie.

“I’m no criminal, but Pickens County Sheriff’s office sure made me feel like I was,” she wrote. “Some of you need to quit (judging) like you are. This is a bogus charge and everyone knows it.”

Luckily she had rewound the tape…

2. Woman Serves Overnight For Overdue Library Books

When New Mexico resident Lori Teel checked out a Twilight book and DVD from her local library in 2010, she forgot about them for two years. $36 in fines were placed on her tab, but that wasn’t all. In true fashion for the Land of the Free, she was handcuffed and booked into jail in front of her five kids who ranged in the age from 1 to 10.

The children are probably all currently seeing psychiatrists. Over a library book.

3. Man Serves 30 Days For Collecting Rainwater

Apparently the US government is God and owns the rainwater or else collecting it on your own property wouldn’t be considered stealing. And you wouldn’t go to jail for this ancient practice. But, alas, Gary Harrington was sentenced to 30 days for doing just that. Gary had tried to apply for permits but he was repeatedly denied because he is a slave and not a creature of the state (which is what “corporations” are anyway.)

4. Woman Serves Two Days For Not Deleting Facebook Account

Paula Asher made a Facebook status update: “My dumb ass got a DUI and I hit a car … LOL!”

The judge caught wind of her public self-shaming he ordered Paula delete her Facebook account. When she did not? The judge ordered she serve two days behind bars…

So by posting stupid comments on Facebook (in the eyes of a man who wears a black dress and throws people in cages) you might be thrown in jail. Sooo…That definitely includes me. How about you?

5. 18-Month Sentence For Soldier Having A Gun

Ok, so this one did not take place in the US but it certainly doesn’t hurt my point…

Danny Nightingale, a respected and decorated soldier in the SAS, an elite branch of the British Air Force, received a Glock 9MM pistol in Afghanistan by the Iraqi government, as a “trophy” for assisting in the training of Iraqi soldiers.

In 2012 Nightingale was sentenced to 18 months in a military prison for possessing the gun since soldiers cannot have guns in their homes under British Law. He served three weeks.

6. Four Months Served On Baseless Suspicion Of Being An Illegal Immigrant

In Arizona “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhood Act” is a license to throw you in jail. This is so well-known that the act is referred to colloquially as the “Show Me Your Papers” act. When Briseira Torres didn’t have them handy when asked she went on to served four months on suspicion of being an undocumented immigrant.

She had a birth certificates and the charges were dropped “without prejudice.”

7. Six Italian Scientists Serve Six Years For Failing To Predict An Earthquake

Six Italian scientists were sentenced to six years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. They failed to accurately predict the location and scale of the L’Aquila earthquake.

Lucky for Italians, their government REALLY cares about keeping them safe. Too bad, if you’re in Italy, you’re considered a money launderer.

8. Send Kids To Wrong School District Serve Ten Days

When Ohio mother Kelley Williams-Bolar sent her kids to the wrong school district, she was committing a massive crime. Who was she to think she had control over who brainwashed her children? By this point in the article surely you see what governments do with such uppity people…

She wanted her kids to go to Copley, a nice school. What’s more, half the time she lived within Copley’s boundaries. But for this fib she was thrown into jail for ten days after a lengthy trial.

The judge “felt that some punishment or deterrent was needed for other individuals who might think to defraud the various school districts.”

9. Student Serves 56 Days For Tweeting Too Stupidly

21-year-old Liam Stacey tweeted some crude stuff after a footballer at his school suffered a heart attack during a game. Liam made fun of him on Twitter. Twitter banned him; University suspended him; and the state sent him to jail for 56 days.

He was jailed for “inciting racial hatred.” His Tweet?

“Haha, that black guy had a heart attack.”

10. Mathew McConaughey Drum Circle Goes Awry

Not even celebrities are immune.

In 1999, Matthew McConaughey’s neighbor called the cops on him to report loud music booming from the famous actor’s home. According to The Smoking Gun, when the police arrived, they found McConaughey naked, stoned, and playing his bongo drums. The actor was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia.

Want to know where on Earth to go to escape the prisonhouses? Well, it isn’t easy to determine:

You’re More Likely to be Shot by Police in U.S. Compared to ALL other Developed Nations

THE shooting of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old African-American, by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, is a reminder that civilians—innocent or guilty—are far more likely to be shot by police in America than in any other rich country. In 2012, according to data compiled by the FBI, 410 Americans were “justifiably” killed by police—409 with guns.

That figure may well be an underestimate. Not only is it limited to the number of people who were shot while committing a crime, but also, amazingly, reporting the data is voluntary.

Last year, in total, British police officers actually fired their weapons three times. The number of people fatally shot was zero. In 2012 the figure was just one. Even after adjusting for the smaller size of Britain’s population, British citizens are around 100 times less likely to be shot by a police officer than Americans. Between 2010 and 2014 the police force of one small American city, Albuquerque in New Mexico, shot and killed 23 civilians; seven times more than the number of Brits killed by all of England and Wales’s 43 forces during the same period.

The explanation for this gap is simple. In Britain, police guns are rare. Only specialist firearms officers carry them; and criminals rarely have access to them. The last time a British police officer was killed by a firearm on duty was in 2012, in a brutal case in Manchester.

The annual number of murders by shooting is typically less than 50. Police shootings are enormously controversial. The shooting of Mark Duggan, a known gangster, which in 2011 started riots across London, led to a fiercely debated inquest. Last month, a police officer was charged with murder over a shooting in 2005.

The reputation of the Metropolitan Police’s armed officers is still barely recovering from the fatal shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, an innocent Brazilian, in the wake of the 7/7 terrorist bombings in London.

In America, by contrast, it is hardly surprising that cops resort to their weapons more frequently. In 2013, 30 cops were shot and killed—just a fraction of the 9,000 or so murders using guns that happen each year.

Add to that a hyper-militarised police culture and a deep history of racial strife and you have the reason why so many civilians are shot by police officers. Unless America can either reduce its colossal gun ownership rates or fix its deep social problems, shootings of civilians by police—justified or not—seem sure to continue.

Via: economist

The British Common Law allowed the use of such force as is necessary to resist an illegal arrest.

Guns in the hands of civilians are necessary to create a balance of power.

Governments can abolish democracy overnight.

Governments can make public assembly and protest illegal.

Government monopoly on the use of lethal force is extremely dangerous, as we are now seeing in Missouri.

As American police become more heavily armed than the population, more civilians are killed.

In the last decade, the number of  people murdered by police has reached 5,000. The number of soldiers killed since the inception of the Iraq war number 4489.  Over 40,000 military style “knock and announce police raids a year.

Do you know the most recent numbers of non-military US citizens killed by terrorism worldwide? That number is 17.

You have a better chance of being killed by POLICE than by a terrorist.

Is Obamacare about to close your hospital?

The Chinese say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. But right now one small-town mayor is wrapping up the stroll of his life.

And he'll be the first to tell you that his journey didn't begin with a single step.

It began with a bunch of special interests looking for a government handout... with a group of punch-drunk politicians who cared more about paying back campaign donors than keeping you well... and with a trillion-dollar federal fiasco that could leave THOUSANDS of rural Americans deader than disco.

And it's time for you to start marching too, because Uh-Oh-bamacare is coming for you next.

Mayor Adam O'Neal just walked 273 miles from his little town of Belhaven, NC right to the gates of the White House -- uninvited -- to deliver a message that Obama and his cronies hoped you'd never hear. The same politicians who sold you Obamacare weren't just wolves in sheep's clothing -- they may be killers in Armani suits.

Belhaven is the latest rural community that saw its hospital closed since Obama(doesn't)care was passed in 2012. Obamacare was supposed to be the health care savior to America's rural poor -- but the fact is, under the law these hospitals have seen their federal subsidies sinking like a stone.

The same president who wants to hand our health insurance to illegal immigrants is forcing hospital administrators to close their doors and open cheaper urgent care clinics that don't have to deal with expensive emergencies.

And when a bunch of bureaucrats start pushing around pennies, you could soon be pushing up daisies. One of O'Neal's constituents -- a 48-year-old woman -- died of a heart attack waiting for a helicopter to take her to the nearest hospital 75 miles away.

Remember how this utopian health fantasy was supposed to IMPROVE your access to medical care? Well, try telling that to some North Carolina farmer who gets his hand caught in a thresher.

Because he'll be bleeding on his boots, driving two hours looking for a hospital that survived the Obama apocalypse. And you can bet George Clooney and the rest of our president's Hollywood friends won't be paying for the gas.

Obamacare isn't just a Big Government tragedy waiting to happen -- it's the greatest political lie since Watergate!

How many MILLIONS have we wasted on slick marketing campaigns and websites that don't work? And just a fraction of that cash could have kept these hospitals open, and maybe could have prevented at least one gal from dropping dead.

Stop waiting for the cavalry, friend -- we're it. Write your reps today and demand they put an end to this socialist experiment straight out of a Soviet nightmare.

Operation Choke Point Kills the American Dream

By Jeff D. Opdyke, Editor of Profit Seeker

Maybe you heard that administration brainiacs wisely ginned up Operation Choke Point — a program run by the Justice Department that, as with any good socialist military state, strong-arms banks into doing the government’s nefarious bidding.

And, just like good socialists, the bidding the government is doing is not only moronic, it’s actually counterproductive to its intended purpose. So typical of the tin-earned Obama gang. But first, the details…

Under Operation Choke Point’s mandate, the Justice Department is “encouraging” banks to close corporate accounts for what the government deems a “high-risk” business. Don’t comply and, well, just maybe we, the Justice Department, need to send some banking regulators into your office for a full-blown financial enema, just to make sure all those T’s and i’s are properly crossed and dotted to government specifications.

No bank wants that joy.

So, the easiest path is the one of least resistance. And, thus, out went the letters like the one Morris Williams received from SunTrust Bank. Morris has offended the Obama administration by earning a living, employing workers and paying his taxes through the legitimate and legal business of running a pawnshop in rural South Carolina that also sells guns, which, last I checked, are still legal to sell. Obama and his clan of neo-Marxists like neither business.

Also on the list of supposedly high-risk businesses — i.e. objectionable to Obama — are payday lenders and some coin dealers. Apparently they prey on the unsuspecting little man, and Obama’s mandate, apparently, is to find a way to protect the little man for these greedy capitalist bastards that want nothing more than to squeeze as much money from the little man as possible.

Only, as usual, there always seems to be a small snafu with unintended consequences when Obama administration brainiacs run amok with their overly eager do-gooder antics.

For, you see, the payday lenders and pawnshops of America serve a vital purpose. Disagreeable as some might find their services and their fees, those businesses keep food on the table and lights on in the kitchen for an estimated 70 million Americans — nearly 30% of our adult population.

And it’s not like that population can just pop on down to the First National Bank of Cash Money and get a loan — or even open a basic bank account, given their challenging social and financial circumstances. Among the 28 developed-economy countries in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the good ol’ U.S. of A. comes in at No. 21 in terms of our population of unbanked Americans. That’s tens of millions of Americans who have no access to the financial system beyond what payday lenders and pawnshops offer. (And you thought America was the world’s wealthiest country. Silly, Rabbit!)

Another Brilliantly Scripted Program Well Executed
The inherent flaw of Operation Choke Point becomes glaringly apparent when you consider that the Federal Reserve this summer released a study showing that one in every two Americans cannot come up with $400 in an emergency without borrowing the money or selling a possession.

So, Obama brainiacs, riddle me this: How are people who are literally living from one paycheck to the next, and who have limited or no access to the banking and credit system, supposed to make their financial lives function if you’re running around like mindless twits mucking up the very businesses that serve that need?

Yes, pawnshops and payday lenders too-often impose usurious interest rates; it’s painfully expensive being poor, no doubt, and a good reason to strive for a better life. But think for a moment about the unintended consequences that you, the government do-gooders on an ass-backward mission, are creating: Without payday lenders and pawnshops, America’s vast army of poor and those clinging desperately to the middle class by a few fingernails won’t suddenly find Bank of America waiting with open arms.

Instead, they will find that Bank of America — and all the other banks — can’t or won’t offer any help … which is exactly what a Federal Reserve study found in 2007 when Georgia and North Carolina banned payday lenders in the 1990s. The number of bounced checks in both states increased dramatically more than in states where payday lenders continued to operate. Same goes for personal bankruptcy filings in both states; they exploded higher. However, the business of loan-sharking picked up, with street-corner muscle enforcing interest rates and penalties that are far more usurious. So, you know, that’s a plus …

Conversely, when Hawaii allowed the payday-lending industry to enter that state in 2003, problems with personal debt and bankruptcies actually declined.

So, kudos, Mr. President. Yet another brilliantly scripted program well executed.

Destroying the Dream
For those of us not personally impacted by the financial effects of Operation Choke Point, we have to ask: To what end is our government moving?

Why does the current administration feel so compelled to insert itself into the economy and either try to pick winners in various industries or determine what businesses should and should not exist?

It shoved boatloads of taxpayer dollars at failed automakers (which are now recalling boatloads of failed automobiles). It tried to pick a winner in the solar industry, only to have a huge scandal erupt when the company that Obama’s administration backed proved to be a bankruptcy in waiting — a fact that an auditor’s report noted two months before Obama’s brainiacs descended with oodles of cash and wide-eyed stupidity.

And now they’re determining that businesses that are legal but, that offend the administration’s sensibilities, should be strong-armed out of existence. This is one of the primary reasons I want some of my personal wealth outside America.

Government here is increasingly capricious and economically destructive

It is encroaching on our lives in fundamentally distasteful ways. Having some wealth outside of America protects me from the risks I see emanating in D.C.

Sadly, this is what our America has become.

I’m sure our founders are proud of how we’ve so thoroughly destroyed their dream of what America could be.

Until next time, stay Sovereign …

In my global travels, I often find myself in a hotel room, bar or restaurant with only a local newspaper for company — at least in those places where I speak the language. A scan of the headlines gives me a pretty good indication of the state of local politics and business.

One of my personal indicators of the local environment is the nature and frequency of articles describing government investigations into businesses. It’s a great way to see who is aligned with whom, and who isn’t.

For example, the Times of India, a venerable journalistic outfit in that country, reliably reports at least three to four front page articles every day on the state of conflict between various government ministries and the economic sectors they oversee.

You can always tell which businesspeople are on the outs with the political elite by who gets charged with some crime … and by omission, who’s in their good books. It’s thus an essential guide to Indian investment decisions. In cricket-mad India, the metaphors used to describe such struggles choose themselves. “Minister X bowls Firm Y for a duck.” “Firm Y hits Minister X for six.” And so on.

Yes, you may say, a sound method of analysis suitable to Third World countries, where the rule of law is weak, and corruption endemic. But when you apply it to the United States, things get very interesting, very quickly …

In recent months, the Justice Department and the New York Attorney General’s Office have trumpeted their alleged “crackdown” on Wall Street. JP Morgan Chase, for example, agreed to pay $23 billion in fines in 2013. And Bank of America has recently settled for a $16.7 billion “fine” over mortgage abuses. That’s in addition to a $9.5 billion BoA fine levied by courts in March. (All tax-deductible as “losses,” naturally.)

Of course, being admissions of criminal guilt, you might expect some jail time, too, but I’m not holding my breath on that one, and neither should you. Even so, this proves that our government is impartially enforcing the law, right? After all, this isn’t chump change. So isn’t America still safely in the First World column in the global governance sweepstakes?

It’s Not About Who Gets Charged … It’s About Who Doesn’t
Not quite. A recent study by the London Business School (LBS) examined more than 7,300 instances when U.S. corporations issued significant corrections to their financial statements between 1996 and 2006. Such restatements typically trigger Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions, because they often imply internal accounting, share trading and other shenanigans.

The LBS study cross-referenced these restatements with campaign contributions and lobbying expenditures by the firms and their executives. It found that “politically connected firms are on average less likely to be involved in an SEC enforcement action, and face lower penalties if they are prosecuted by the SEC.” Specifically, firms that increased their political contributions by $1 million over five years cut their chances of being prosecuted in half.

Why would the supposedly impartial SEC enforce the law so lopsidedly?

The LBS study suggests that it’s all about the SEC’s fear of political consequences when choosing enforcement targets. The more money a firm has donated to key lawmakers, the more likely it is that those lawmakers will become upset by SEC prosecution, leading them to try to punish the agency by reducing its budget. “The presence of an established, public relationship between the firm and key politicians could be sufficient because the SEC might be aware of the increased costs of initiating an investigation against such a firm,” the study says.

Strike one against First World standards of the rule of law. Now for the next pitch.

A 2013 Project on Government Oversight research report found that since 2001, more than 400 former SEC officials have taken jobs representing firms facing SEC action. The LBS report found that companies that employ ex-SEC lobbyists “experience a larger reduction in the probability of enforcement and in penalties than those that do not.”

Strike two.

Definitely, the SEC has to pick and choose its targets.  But surely they’re targeting the worst violations, such as the pay-to-play scandal, in which Wall Street firms bribe state and local politicians to give them pension fund business? After all, the SEC established an unambiguous rule banning Wall Street firms from donating money to politicians who give those firms contracts to manage public pension money.

Here comes the windup…

A major investigation early this year into donors associated with 43 financial firms managing New Jersey pension funds, including vampire squid Goldman Sachs, found that they have spent a total of $11.6 million on contributions to state politicians, including Gov. Christie’s election campaign and the New Jersey Republican State Committee. Many of these contributions came either just before or just after the Christie administration awarded the firms massive pension management contracts.

That’s in direct violation of the SEC rule, but there’s been no mention of an investigation. Indeed, the SEC has prosecuted just one case under the now three-year-old rule.

Strike three.
And … You’re Out!

Shortly after the 2008 financial crisis hit, ex-IMF Chief Economist Simon Johnson wrote that the U.S. had undergone “quiet coup” and become a “banana republic.” Like many developing countries, the U.S. political system had melded its financial and political elites into one — an elite that regards itself as above the law.

From 1973 to 2009, the financial sector’s share of domestic corporate profits climbed from 16% to over 40%. Donations flowed to Congress and hundreds of SEC officials became rich shills for Wall Street. So when the U.S. economy’s day of reckoning came in 2007-2008, the only policy options adopted — indeed, the only ones on the table — were those that bailed out America’s fat cat financiers. The rest of us were left to suffer.

In baseball, when a batter strikes out, they leave the plate. But in today’s America, when the elite that have dragged us down to Third World status strike out, they just keep on batting …

Kind regards,

Ted Baumann

Satanic 'black mass' gets green light from U.S. city

Concerns mount about 'dark powers that this invites into our community'

The Catholic Archbishop of Oklahoma City has agreed to drop a lawsuit against a satanic cult that plans to perform a “black mass” in the city now that the cult has returned a stolen consecrated host to the church.

An Oklahoma-based satanic group called Dakhma of Angra Mainyu has leased space in the Civic Center Music Hall, which is owned and operated by the city, for a black mass on Sept. 21.

The event is booked for the Cityspace theater, which is the facility’s smallest theater space, said Jennifer McClintock, public information officer for the Civic Center.

She told WND the city will not block the black mass from being held despite an uproar among Christian and family groups, which are mobilizing to stop it.

God might ask, "With people such as these running our government, is America even worth saving?"

Harvard hosting Satanic 'Black Mass'

Harvard isn't worth saving - a vastly overrated school anyway.

The people in government who graduated from Harvard seem to be idiots.

If you don’t want to get probed, poked, pinched, tasered, tackled, searched, seized, stripped, manhandled, arrested, shot, or killed, don’t say, do or even suggest anything that even hints of noncompliance. This is the new “thin blue line” over which you must not cross in interactions with police if you want to walk away with your life and freedoms intact.

The following incidents and many more like them serve as chilling reminders that in the American police state, “we the people” are at the mercy of law enforcement officers who have almost absolute discretion to decide who is a threat, what constitutes resistance, and how harshly they can deal with the citizens they were appointed to “serve and protect.”

For example, police arrested Chaumtoli Huq because she failed to promptly comply when ordered to “move along” while waiting outside a Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant for her children, who were inside with their father, using the bathroom. NYPD officers grabbed Huq, a lawyer with the New York City Public Advocate’s office, flipped her around, pressed her against a wall, handcuffed her, searched her purse, arrested her, and told her to “shut up” when she cried out for help, before detaining her for nine hours. Huq was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Oregon resident Fred Marlow was jailed and charged with interfering and resisting arrest after he filmed a SWAT team raid that took place across the street from his apartment and uploaded the footage to the internet. The footage shows police officers threatening Marlow, who was awoken by the sounds of “multiple bombs blasting and glass breaking” and ran outside to investigate only to be threatened with arrest if he didn’t follow orders and return inside.

Eric Garner, 43 years old, asthmatic and unarmed, died after being put in a chokehold by NYPD police, allegedly for resisting arrest over his selling untaxed, loose cigarettes, although video footage of the incident shows little resistance on Garner’s part. Indeed, the man was screaming, begging and insisting he couldn’t breathe. And what was New York Mayor Bill De Blasio’s advice to citizens in order to avoid a similar fate? Don’t resist arrest. (Mind you, the NYPD arrests more than 13,000 people every year on charges of resisting arrest, although only a small fraction of those charged ever get prosecuted.)

Then there was Marine Brandon Raub, who was questioned at his home by a swarm of DHS, FBI, Secret Service agents and local police, tackled to the ground, handcuffed, and forcibly transported to a police station. Raub was then detained against his will in a psychiatric ward, without being provided any explanation, having any charges levied against him or being read his rights—all allegedly because of controversial song lyrics and political views posted on his Facebook page.

Incredibly, police insisted that Raub was not in fact under arrest. Of course, Raub was under arrest. When your hands are handcuffed behind you, when armed policemen are tackling you to the ground and transporting you across town in the back of a police car, and then forcibly detaining you against your will, you’re not free to walk away.

If you do attempt to walk away, be warned that the consequences will likely be even worse, as Tremaine McMillian learned the hard way. Miami-Dade police slammed the 14-year-old boy to the ground, putting him in a chokehold and handcuffing him after he allegedly gave them “dehumanizing stares” and walked away from them, which the officers found unacceptable. According to Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, “His body language was that he was stiffening up and pulling away… When you have somebody resistant to them and pulling away and somebody clenching their fists and flailing their arms, that’s a threat. Of course we have to neutralize the threat.”

As I point out in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, this mindset that any challenge to police authority is a threat that needs to be “neutralized” is a dangerous one that is part of a greater nationwide trend that sets the police beyond the reach of the Fourth Amendment. Moreover, when police officers are allowed to operate under the assumption that their word is law and that there is no room for any form of disagreement or even question, that serves to chill the First Amendment’s assurances of free speech, free assembly and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Frankly, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a casual “show your ID” request on a boardwalk, a stop-and-frisk search on a city street, or a traffic stop for speeding or just to check your insurance: if you feel like you can’t walk away from a police encounter of your own volition—and more often than not you can’t, especially when you’re being confronted by someone armed to the hilt with all manner of militarized weaponry and gear—then for all intents and purposes, you’re under arrest from the moment a cop stops you.

That raises the question, what exactly constitutes resisting an arrest? What about those other trumped up “contempt of cop” charges such as interference, disorderly conduct, obstruction, and failure to obey a police order that get trotted out anytime a citizen engages in behavior the police perceive as disrespectful or “insufficiently deferential to their authority”? Do Americans really have any recourse at all when it comes to obeying an order from a police officer, even if it’s just to ask a question or assert one’s rights, or should we just “surrender quietly”?

The short answer is that anything short of compliance will get you arrested and jailed. The long answer is a little more complicated, convoluted and full of legal jargon and dissonance among the courts, but the conclusion is still the same: anything short of compliance is being perceived as “threatening” behavior or resistance to be met by police with extreme force resulting in injury, arrest or death for the resistor.

The key word, of course, is comply meaning to obey, submit or conform. This is what author Kristian Williams describes as the dual myths of heroism and danger: “The overblown image of police heroism, and the ‘obsession’ with officer safety, do not only serve to justify police violence after the fact; by providing such justification, they legitimize violence, and thus make it more likely.”

How else can we explain why police shot a schizophrenic 30-year-old man holding a pellet gun over 80 times before his corpse was handcuffed? Mind you, witnesses reportedly informed the police that it was not a real gun, but the officers nonetheless opened fire about five minutes after arriving on the scene.

John Crawford was shot by police in an Ohio Wal-Mart for holding an air rifle sold in the store that he may have intended to buy. Oscar Grant, age 23, unarmed and lying face-down on the ground, was shot in the back by a transit officer in Oakland, Calif., who mistakenly used a gun instead of a taser to further restrain him. Ordered to show his hands after “anti-crime” police officers noticed him adjusting “his waistband in a manner the officers deemed suspicious,” 16-year old Kimani Grey was fired at 11 times, and shot seven times, including three times in the back. Reportedly, the teenager was unarmed and unthreatening.

Even dogs aren’t spared if they are perceived as “threatening.” Family dogs are routinely shot and killed during SWAT team raids, even if the SWAT team is at the wrong address or the dog is in the next yard over. One six-year-old girl witnessed her dog Apollo shot dead by an Illinois police officer.

Clearly, when police officers cease to look and act like civil servants or peace officers but instead look and act like soldiers occupying a hostile territory, it alters their perception of “we the people.” Those who founded this country believed that we were the masters and that those whose salaries we pay with our hard-earned tax dollars are our servants.

If daring to question, challenge or even hesitate when a cop issues an order can get you charged with resisting arrest or disorderly conduct, you’re not the master in a master-servant relationship. In fact, you’re not even the servant—you’re the slave.

This is not freedom. This is not even a life.

This is a battlefield, a war zone—if you will—governed by martial law and disguised as a democracy. No matter how many ways you fancy it up with shopping malls, populist elections, and Monday night football, the fact remains that “we the people” are little more than prisoners in the American police state, and the police are our jailers and wardens.

In America, about 40% of the adult population are on anti-depressants.

The goal of the pharmaceutical industry is 100% of America medicated forever.

Why so many depressed people?

If you don't know by now, you need to re-read all of the posts above.

Americans have been brainwashed into thinking they are free, but their freedom is to take more pills and pay more taxes.

“Shortly, the public will be unable to reason or think for themselves. They’ll only be able to parrot the information they’ve been given on the previous night’s news”. - Zbigniew Brzezinski

American Television Viewing Is Unhealthy

TV has been demonstrated to increase cravings for junk food, and increase the likelihood of becoming overweight, being bullied, under-performing at school, being inactive, and becoming prone to misbehavior.

Japanese researchers, from Tohoku University, found that when children spend a lot of time viewing TV, there can be some very profound the brain defects. The study examined 276 children aged between five and 18, who watched between zero and four hours of TV per day. The average viewing time for the study’s participants was about two hours. The study conducted MRI brain scans and it showed children who spent the most hours in front of TV had greater amounts of gray matter in regions around the frontopolar cortex. This could account why there is a correlation between the amount of time children watch TV and children possessing substandard verbal skills. The amount of gray matter in the brain needs to be pruned in childhood and TV exacerbates this challenge in developing brains.

Researchers have found that TV produces long-term attention disorders among the young beginning around the age of two to three months old. Some researchers are speculating that disorders, such as ADHD, may actually be developed through TV watching in very early childhood. Since 11% of the nation’s children are now diagnosed with ADHD, this is a financial goldmine for Big Pharma.

Television is addicting, particularly for young brains.  Researcher Herbert Krugman found that endorphins are released while watching TV. This means that TV viewers get a burst of “runners high” when watching their favorite programs.

Jerry Mander, The author of Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television, describes how the brainwaves of viewers’ slow down while watching TV. The study determined that program content made difference to this process.

American TV, the Great Brain-Washing Device

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the public believes is false.” - William Casey, former CIA Director

Television has a filtering impact on the perception of reality. This may be television’s most dramatic and dangerous impact . The psychological concept of confirmation bias means that when we hear a message often enough, we come to unquestionably accept the message as authentic and real. And the message is amazingly consistent because only six globalist corporate entities control over 90% of the media.

Television is accused of promoting feelings of inadequacy and enhances a personal belief system based upon an external locus of control. Simply put, this means that the viewer is taught from an early age to not believe in their personal ability to modify their life’s circumstances and that most of what happens in life is a matter of luck and these factors are always outside of our control.

It has long been known that one of the best behavioral control methods, designed to enhance feelings of docility, is to have patients in mental wards or prisoners, view large amounts of television.

When we combine these three factors, it is easy to see that the television viewing public is being trained to become the hopeless slaves of the existing power structure and, of course, “Resistance is futile”.

American Television Inoculates People from Being Repulsed By Violence

American television is a vaccine that actually works. By the time the average person reaches the age of 18 they seen over 200,000 violent acts on TV including 40,000 murders. It is also estimated that  more than 50% of students in secondary school have witnessed their peers imitating violent acts they’ve seen on TV.

We are not only conditioned to be a more violent by television through the process of habituation and desensitization (Bandura, 1964), we are also conditioned to embrace violence. This has profound implications when we consider such questions as whether, or not, American soldiers will fire on American citizens.

American Television Robs Viewers of Spiritual and Moral Development

Perhaps the greatest danger we face from television lies in the fact that our children are separated from us philosophically, morally and spiritually by the liberal values being imparted every minute of the day by television programming. Most American families do not embrace the notion of gay marriage, yet the media would have one believe that the practice is all the rage amongst the American middle class.

One would have to be deaf, dumb and blind to the fact that Jesus is not an invited guest on almost all network programming. This would help to explain our severe moral decline as television programming promotes every anti-family value that the globalists can think up. The portrayal of deviant lifestyles is common place on TV, even though most of the viewers are not of the same mindset.

American television promotes a false sense of reality.

Let’s not forget that the pseudoscience of climate change is presented to the public as if it is well-established fact and it is not! However, TV watchers are never exposed to the contrary view in the mainstream media. We should remember former CNN reporter, Amber Lyon and her revelations that CNN is paid by the government and agencies like the CIA to run certain stories while ignoring other stories that do not promote the globalist agenda.

American television robs people of an internal sense of happiness.

In fact, researchers have found that happy people do not watch television.

In an interview I conducted with Jim Marrs, I remember Jim saying that if we wanted to free our minds from the control of the globalists, we should turn our TV’s off.  Jim is right, because as the influence and listenership of the alternative media continues to grow, the ratings for the dinosaur media continues to plummet. The message is clear, turn off the TV.

Americans should only own one washing machine, and that would be the one that only washes dirty clothes.

Ebola threatens to sweep across America.

The United States sits on the brink of World War III.

The economy is teetering on collapse.

The Chinese are on the verge of owning your possessions and you and this arrangement was agreed to by people who were elected to “protect and defend the Constitution”.

The UN is poised to be in charge of the demise of this country when martial law is declared.

The eternal “bail outs” have robbed this generation and future generations of any chance at financial solvency.

America has more people on welfare than are working full time.

Election fraud is rampant.

American students continue to fall further behind our international cohorts.

The average person cannot even name one thing that the Obama administration has done to improve the condition of the middle class, yet, he got re-elected.

One visit, for one day to Steve Quayle’s website and one radio broadcast from Doug and Joe Hagmann, or from Sheila Zilinski should be enough to summon the spirits of Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine and we should be witnessing the creation of a new Declaration of Independence and a re-creation of the pamphlet entitled Common Sense, for which my radio show and website are named.

“Isn’t it time to get mad, mad as hell”?

As I look at America’s daunting and mounting dilemmas, I cannot help wondering,  In response to my multi-part series on the unaddressed dangers posed by Ebola, many of you have written to me and expressed some very heartfelt consternation of the present set of affairs.

                            Yet, nobody does anything!

There can be little doubt that America needs a rallying call to action if we are to reverse the destructive path we have embarked upon.

The middle class is in desperate need of a spokesperson, somebody who could awaken the masses and spur an apathetic America to action. Who could provide this much needed clarion call?

“I don’t have to tell you that things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. We are in the greatest depression of all time.

A hundred million Americans lost their jobs and several million more afraid of losing their jobs.

Thanks to the FED, the dollar buys a penny’s worth; your local bank is only still open through the forced “generosity” of your hard-earned tax dollars in the form of bailouts in the biggest wealth distribution plan in all of recorded history”.

chemtrails-2.jpgWe know the air is unfit to breathe, we are being sprayed by Chemtrails

and our genetically modified food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TV’s as some local newscaster tells us that the Dow is approaching 16,000, the FDIC and Social Security are near insolvency. Because of the NDAA, the government can secretly snatch you off the street and nobody knows what to do about it.

We know things are bad—worse than bad—they’re crazy! It’s like everything, everywhere is going crazy. So, we don’t go out anymore because we cannot afford the photo radar tickets and the toll road fees.

We sit in our soon-to-be foreclosed homes and slowly the world we’re living in is getting smaller, and all we say is,

“Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my satellite TV and  my MP3 players as well as my smartphone, and I won’t say anything."

Well, I’m not going to leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest, the new DARPA weapons  of citizen subjugation that would render protest effort to be futile. I don’t want you to riot, NORTHCOM and DHS lie in wait.

I don’t want you to write to your Congressman, because they are already bought and paid for by the forces that are already at work trying to enslave you. I don’t know what to do about the depression, the Russians and the Chinese and neither does Obama. I also don’t know what to do about inflation, your lost pension and the crime in the streets.”

All I know is that first, you’ve got to get mad. You’ve gotta say, “I’m a human being, damn it! My life has value!”

“So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!

Fortunately, most Americans are angry, terribly angry as evidenced by Congress’ 7% approval rating. Unfortunately, most of America does not know where to direct their anger or who is responsible for our declining fortunes and we are quickly running out of time.

To the sheep of America, there is nothing more that anyone can tell you.

My media colleagues have identified the great usurpers of the Constitution. Thanks to many in the media, the names of the robber barons are on display for all to see as well as their crimes against humanity. There is nothing more that I can write or that Doug and Joe Hagmann can broadcast. We, in the media have made the information known to anyone who takes the time to look. If you do not get it by now, it is not likely that you ever will as you have likely accepted your enslavement with a smile.

Famed chef Emeril Lagasse says that it’s becoming all but impossible to be a successful restaurateur in America today. The government just gets in the way too much. Lagasse specifically singled out the current president’s policies.

“It’s becoming a very challenging industry to become a very successful average restaurateur,” continued Lagasse. “I can’t charge $300 a person in my restaurant or I would not be in business. Am I using any different ingredients? Not really. Am I using any caliber of service staff? I don’t think so. I think our service is as good or better than most places.”

“And then you add all the Obama nonsense to what it’s become in the last several years. I don’t have anything against Mr. Obama. I’m just saying the way that, you know… the government should stay out of things. [...] Pretty soon, they’re going to wipe a lot of the middle restaurateurs and restaurant cooks. [...] If it continues, then watch: you’re going to have high-end, and you’re going to have fast food, and you’re going to have chain restaurants.”

Lagasse shared his thoughts on TNT’s On the Menu. He predicts that if the government doesn’t start getting out of the way, the American restaurant industry will split and leave entrepreneurs and start-ups behind. American restaurants will consist only of high-end establishments like the ones Lagasse owns, fast food and chain restaurants, because no one else will be able to succeed.

“It’s a whorehouse, and people go mad,” said John Cusack in describing present-day Hollywood in an interview with The Guardian published on Friday.

Promoting his latest film, David Cronenberg's Maps to The Stars, Cusack didn't hold back, criticizing ageism in Hollywood, as well as misogyny and what he sees as an increasingly broken studio system.

Maps, which screened in Cannes this year, is a satire of Hollywood with Cusack starring as a wealthy self-help guru and an ensemble cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore and Mia Wasikowska.

“L.A. seems to be a place where a guy can say he’s a ‘life-coach-channeller-masseur’,” Cusack told The Guardian. “It just seems to be ripe with all these frontier crazies. People are looking to turn their pain into beautiful art, but they also want to be famous. And there’s so much money — so of course all the predators come in.”

In the wide-ranging interview, Cusack also railed against the issue of age in Hollywood, which is laid bare in Maps. “I got another 15, 20 years before they say I’m old. For women it’s brutal. Bruce’s thing about if you’re 26, you’re menopausal? It’s only absurd because it’s a little bit further than the truth,” said Cusack.

He added: “I have actress friends who are being put out to pasture at 29. They just want to open up another can of hot 22. It’s becoming almost like kiddie porn.”

Later in the interview, Cusack lamented the state of Hollywood today, describing it as an industry dominated by mega-corporations obsessed with franchises. Cusack admits he's made some obviously commercial films to fund projects he cares about and that in the past, there were studio heads who had a similar approach.

“My friend Joe Roth ran Disney ... He made things like The Rock and Con Air to make shareholders happy, but then he also gave six or seven slots to people he liked," Cusack said. "I got to make High Fidelity and Grosse Pointe Blank. Spike Lee got to make Summer of Sam. Wes Anderson got to make Rushmore. I had that memory of film and that’s gone.”

Cusack thinks the Hollywood system of “one for you, one for them” is no more. “Now it’s six for them — with a committee cutting the film who weren’t part of making it — and maybe one for you. If I could do something like sell watches in China, then I would do that and just make movies like Maps."

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A North Texas hospital has a patient in isolation as they evaluate them for potential exposure to the Ebola virus.

Officials with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas released the following statement Monday night:

“Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas has admitted a patient into strict isolation to be evaluated for potential Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) based on the patient’s symptoms and recent travel history. The hospital is following all Centers for Disease Control and Texas Department of Heath recommendations to ensure the safety of patients, hospital staff, volunteers, physicians and visitors. The CDC anticipates preliminary results tomorrow.”

The patient’s travel history and specific symptoms remain unclear, but it is said to involve a high fever and vomiting. The name of the patient has not been released.

CBS 11 News spoke with Dallas County Health and Human Services director Zachary Thompson, who confirmed that the patient had been in an area where the Ebola virus exists. “Looking at the travel history is the first indicator, and then the next step is [treatment or non-treatment] once we get lab results,” he said.

Thompson definitely felt that there should be a heightened sense of awareness in North Texas, based on what has happened internationally. “With what we’ve seen in the media and how deadly the Ebola virus is, it is a concern,” he said.
The badge of a Red Cross worker is disinfected after working with an Ebola patient.

Thompson stressed that there are certain procedures that will be followed if tests for the patient come back positive. “We [health professionals] all had been planning to look at what our next steps are if there is a confirmed case,” Thompson said. “Again, we have to do the public health follow up to see what contacts, where this individual has gone since they arrived here in Dallas. There are a number of things that have to be looked at.”

And while they are "looking for contacts" the patient may have had, Ebola is quietly spreading across Texas?

What a casual attitude!   As if Ebola was merely another flu?

Dead Americans don't matter.   Obama doesn't care.   If Obama cared, he would have banned all air traffic from Africa.

The least Obama could do is to quarantine all African tourists for 21 days at the airport, and if they were still alive after that time, then let them into the country.   Ebola takes 21 days to incubate.   It takes only 2 days to travel from Africa to America.  Do the math.

Obama is criminally negligent in handling immigration - wide open borders, federal agents helping illegal immigration to continue, and a complete refusal to inspect potential Ebola carriers - a prescription for national disaster.   The American Nightmare.

“The process of undermining the US dollar is well on schedule as well; more than 105 countries have decided that the dollar no longer works for them, joining Russia, China and other BRICS nations in leaving the dollar as the entire world comes to the realization that America’s leaders are insane.

Their recklessness and evil ways have left tremendous shame upon our nation. Though there has been much manipulation and propping up, but that is only setting us up for the inevitable massive crash".

“V” begins by updating us on recent information that he has received from his 4-Star General source and warns that events are still on schedule, a schedule that he previously warned would leave the US dollar ‘undermined’ by 2015 and the US ceasing to exist as a nation by 2017“.

On the surface, these claims appear to border on hysteria. However, as history has proven, time and time again, that Susan Duclos and “V” are to always be taken seriously when revealing controversial information.

Subsequently, I proceeded to find confirming, or disconfirming evidence, that theseclaims are accurate and should taken seriously by all Americans. Both the direct and ancillary evidence serves as overwhelming in support of V’s claims and Susan’s reporting.

Halfway to Economic Armageddon

“V’s” claims notwithstanding, the American economy is already in severe danger as we consider the following facts.

There are 35 states in this country in which it is better to accept welfare than work at an entry level job. Much like crack cocaine or heroin addicts, much of our nation is hopelessly addicted to living in the welfare state or on unsustainable levels of credit.

From a micro perspective, the personal economic health of America is abysmal. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 146 million Americans are either “poor” or “low income”. Stunningly, more than 100 million Americans are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government, not including the massive entitlement programs of Social Security or Medicare. The number of people on food stamps has grown to 47.79 million Americans. In 2008, when Obama first took office, only 32 million Americans were on food stamps. Approximately, 20.2 million Americans spend more than half of their incomes on housing, which represents a 46% increase from 2001. Parents under the age of 30 experience poverty rates consisting of 37 percent. The number of Americans living in poverty has grown to one out of every six US citizens.

The above information could be considered to be the good news. What follows is grim.

Watch the Credit Swap Derivatives

In the United States, credit swap derivatives created national debt totals of over one quadrillion dollars. That is one thousand trillion dollars! The entire GDP of the planet is estimated at $66 trillion dollars. And somehow, in the infinite wisdom of Congress in 2008, we falsely and naively believed that a $750 billion transfer of wealth (i.e., Bailout #1) was magically going to save the economy and the collective futures of the American middle class. Please let me repeat that the most conservative estimate is that the derivatives debt is 10 times greater than the GDP of the entire world. Most economists estimate the number to be 16 times greater that the GDP of the planet!

In short, the debt created by futures speculation is approximately 10-16 times greater than the sum total of the entire wealth on the planet! It would not matter if the debt was only two times the GDP of the planet, we do not have the capacity to pay down this debt. The interest on the debt is growing faster than the rise in national revenue. And we think we are going to climb out of this? Let’s take a moment and discuss the derivatives debt.

Five of the “too big to fail” banks in the United States that have more than 40 trillion dollars in exposure to derivatives. The national debt is sitting at a grand total of almost 18 trillion dollars. The sum of 40 trillion dollars is almost unfathomable.

Credit swap derivatives trading is not too different from betting on baseball or football games. It is gambling, it is a Ponzi scheme and Wall Street bankers should be in jail. However, this is the new economic landscape of America. The name of the game is the “Last American Garage Sale” where these bankers are positioning to steal all the assets possible before the collapse.

Please note that under the category, in the above illustration, “Widgets “R” US Corp“, the banks loan the money. In other words, if this Ponzi scheme fails, the banks which underwrite and guarantee the entire process, will eventually fail!

The credit swap derivatives are bad enough, but when we carry over the economic implications to the health of the banking system, the banks are bordering on total collapse along with all of your saved earnings.

Most Americans Think That Their Bank Deposits Are Safe

Some readers have written to me and have dutifully reminded me that the FDIC is at their bank standing guard over their deposits. How woefully and depressingly ignorant is that statement?

The FDIC does not have the money to cover your deposits as it has only $25 billion in its deposit insurance fund. By law, the FDIC is required to keep a balance equivalent to only 1.15% of insured deposits on hand. Yes, America, that means that less than 2% of your deposits are covered.

Others have pointed out to me that the Dodd-Frank Act (Section 716) now bans taxpayer bailouts of most speculative derivatives activities. You remember the derivatives don’t you? They were the imaginary wealth that was built upon more imaginary wealth but were guaranteed with hard assets backed by the banks. When this house of cards collapsed, it pulled the banks down and led to the series of bailouts which has devastated our economy.

Therefore, when your bank defaults, and it will, the depositors as well as the banks will turn to the FDIC for relief. The FDIC will have no choice but to draw upon its credit line in order to cover a BofA, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan derivatives bust which has been co-mingled with savings account funds. The resulting effect is that this will require a taxpayer bailout to cover the credit line.  This will negate the safety from the bailouts that the public thought that they were receiving under the Dodd-Franks bill of no more bailouts.

What very few people are talking about, and as is the case with all credit lines, this money will have to be paid back. Therefore, the coming default of the FDIC, used to cover the derivatives debt, will become the excuse for another taxpayer bailout. And on and on it goes.

When the last instrument has been looted and then deflated, where do you think that will leave you and your computerized digits that represent the bulk of your self-built financial empire? All of your life, most of you have worked for banker backed interest in some capacity and now, these banksters are stealing back the pittance they paid you in the first place. Where’s Karl Marx when you need him? Bank depositors of the world, unite!

More Bad News

With the banks in debt to the tune of $40 trillion dollars, the pension system is also at risk because the banks and their related financial investment firms underwrote the Credit Swap Derivatives. Moody’s warns in its latest report on the state of public pension systems. As Bloomberg reports, “The 25 biggest systems by assets averaged a 7.45% return from 2004 to 2013, but liabilities tripled over the same period leaving them facing a $2 trillion shortfall as investment returns can’t keep up with ballooning obligations”. The top 25 funds account for 40% of the entire US public pension system. Bloomberg further reports that “The 25 largest U.S. public pensions face about $2 trillion in unfunded liabilities, showing that investment returns can’t keep up with ballooning obligations”, according to Moody’s Investors Service.

Americans will be working until they drop dead because, very soon, there will be no such thing as a pension. Very soon, most of these Americans will not have any job to go to.

When this house of cards comes crashing down, how do you think the government will deal with the situation?

If you have not listened to V’s interview, I would suggest you do so now.

When Will the Economic Collapse Happen?

The collapse has already started. With 105 nations running from the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency, there is nothing left to back up the dollar. Our currency will hyper-inflate and America’s economy will make the crash of the Weimar Republic look like a picnic.

Certainly, even the most ardent sheep understand what the economic collapse of the Weimar Republic led to. What makes us think things are going to be any different?

Why did George H.W. Bush build a 100,000 acre ranch in Paraguay?

Why is NORTHCOM, a combat organization, engaging in continuing the nonstop urban riot control training?

Why are UN military vehicles on our soil?

Why did FEMA and DHS schedule 10 disaster drills between September 25th and November 13th?

Why are former FEMA and DHS agents, as well as many bankers going into hiding in prepared communities?

Are we to believe that all of these factors are unrelated?

It is looking more and more like the bail-out money, which was no more than the private theft of public money, is actually doing what the name implies, it is bailing out corporate executives in advance of the coming crash.

America is being forced to fund the getaway gifts for those that have stolen so much from the American people!

Factor in the coming Ebola outbreak and the possibility of an EMP attack, the misery factor immediately and exponentially compounds. The American economy is on fire and the only remnants of what once was is a few hollowed out and charred structures.

Once they have our hard assets, the absolute and final crash and burn of the economy will occur and it will be anarchy in the streets. And more of V’s dire predictions, regarding a post-collapse America will undoubtedly come to pass.

The End Of Democracy In America

There may not even be a 2016 president election, according to one man who is a likely contender.

“I hope that that is not going to be the case. But certainly there is the potential,” said Dr. Ben Carson, who was director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and became famous for his groundbreaking work in separating conjoined twins. He is now firmly established as a superstar among conservatives across America.

He was responding to a question from Fox News interviewer Chris Wallace, who quoted Carson’s own statement that “there might not actually be elections in 2016…”

“Do you really believe that?” Wallace asked.

It is possible, said Carson, “because you have to recognize we have a rapidly increasing national debt, a very unstable financial foundation, and you have all of these things gong on, like the ISIS crisis, that could very rapidly change things that are going on in our nation. And unless we begin to deal with these things in a comprehensive way and a logical way, there’s no telling what could happen in just a matter of a couple of years, and particularly in a situation where we have a Senate and a Senate leader who has over 300 bills sitting on his desk, [who] will not bring them to the floor for a vote.”

He described that as thwarting the will of the people and instead of having government conform to the people, it is having the people conform to the “will of the government.”

What do YOU think?

Will there be a presidential election in 2016?

"I'm more scared about the United States than I am about China,"

Steve Wynn told CNBC this week at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. The protests in Hong Kong have "become sort of a party out there."

Wynn said he believes the situation will be resolved: "Everyone in China is pragmatic and practical."

Wynn continues to praise the business climate in China compared to the United States: "The regulatory burden in China is infinitesimal compared to the crap we get in America."

He praised what he called "the most laissez-faire place on the planet at the moment" in China, and said Americans don't realize how positive and aspirational the Chinese are about their own lives and their own government.

"If you ask any Chinese businessman, or even the working folks, 'Do you trust the central government?' they'll say 'Yes.'"

On the other hand, Wynn continues to disparage the White House: "I am stunned at the immaturity of this administration. ... We elected a man as president who had no experience at anything."

"The administration wants to punish everybody.

That's part of the political mentality at the moment in America"

Punish people."

Apple and Google have begun encrypting the data of customers so that nobody, including Apple and Google, have plain text access to it.

This of course means “so that the government will not have access to it.” The FBI is terribly upset about this, the first serious resistance against onrushing Orwellianism. God bless Apple and Google. But will they be able to stand up to the feds?

Here is a curious situation indeed. The government has become our enemy, out of  control, and we have to depend on computer companies for any safety we may have.

NSA spies on us illegally and in detail, recording telephone conversations, reading email, recording our financial transactions, on and on. TSA makes air travel a nightmare, forcing us to hop about barefoot and confiscating toothpaste. The police kick in our doors at night on no-knock raids and shoot our dogs. In bus stations we are subject to search without probable cause. The feds track us through our cell phones.

Laws make it a crime to photograph the police, an out-and-out totalitarian step: Cockroaches do not like light. The feds give police forces across the country weaponry normal to militaries. Whatever the intention, it is the hardware of control of dissent. Think Tian An Men Square in China.

And we have no recourse. If you resist, you go to jail, maybe not for long, not yet anyway, but jail is jail. Object to TSA and you miss your flight. They know it and use it. The courts do nothing about this. They too are feds.

Fools say, “If you are not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear.” This might be true, or partly true, or sometimes true, or occasionally plausible, if government were benevolent. It isn’t.

The feds—whatever the intention of individuals—are setting up the machinery of a totalitarianism beyond anything yet known on the earth. It falls rapidly into place.

You can argue, if you are optimistic enough to make Pollyanna look like a Schopenhaurian gloom-monger, that they would never use such powers. They already do use those powers.   Every day.

The only question is how far they will push. What cannot be argued is that they have the powers.
