Well, Linda Ronstadt was my favorite female singer for many years, and could still accurately fit that description, but Diana Krall is a slightly newer entity so I always say she's my favorite these days.  There are so many wonderful entertainers, it's almost pointless to hold one above all others, but Ronstadt is like Joan Baez that way, the sixties: and the revolutionary spirit of the time, would not have been what they were without either of them.

I do not know the singers names I only like the Music

The thread called for favorite female singer, not favorite music.  As much I'm impressed with Tarja Turunen, a call for favorite music might have produced work by another famous Fin, Jean Sibelius.  Finlandia was written as a nationalistic protest against Russian domination.  In my view, it's one of the most stirring pieces of music ever written.

""It clanks loud that’s all only for a impressive set up""

thats <hansel> at times he is a neo-nazi holocaust denier;

at other times he is very anti-neonazis in ukraine.

he told me - "i do what i like"

such as posting other material than *favorite female singer* on this thread.

i say that hansel can not be doing what he likes;

because he is not smart enuf to know what he may like, and where he may like it.

i tryed to teach hansel the difference between male singers and female singers.

so he posts some girley pictures, and tells you that he does not know the singers names.

he also does not know their gender. and hansel is very anarchial revolutionary.

?are you trying to be similar to hansel by posting sibelius?

i like sibelius, it is not ever possible to be anti-russian by writting a symphony.

in fact; it becomes pro-russian to participate in the symphonic art form.

russia is the natural result of certain geo-political forces which as as much a part of nature as those little ducks that jump out of a tree.

Vladzo,

I've had some outrageous confrontations in the past, with other users on this forum; arguments that got very personal; intimidating too, but I have no reason at this stage to think that will happen with Hansel, or anyone else here.  Perhaps Hansel deplores the violence and inhumanity of Naziism, but remains open minded about national socialism as a politico-economic doctrine.  I probably wouldn't agree, but it could be a worthy debate if we could avoid at least some of the inevitable antisemitism that punctuates his rhetoric.  I can stomach the odd racial slur, but I do quickly grow tired of the repetitive "Jews did it" mantra.  Racism is boring and none of us come here to be bored, I hope.

Sorry if the video didn't work correctly.  I was not trying to make any political point by posting Finlandia.  It's just an evocative and emotionally stirring piece of music, but probably not everyone's cup-of-tea.  Perhaps I shouldn't have posted it on a Favorite Female Singer thread.
