You know that Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on Nov 2015 which bans the recognition of holy books as extremist materials following a scandalous law suit in the summer. The Bible, Koran, Tanakh and Kangyur have been included in the check-proof list.
The move is a response to an August scandal during which a judge from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a city in the Far East, recognized the book Prayer to God: Its Meaning and Place in Islam as extremist.
At the same time frame Bernard-Henry Levy asked muslims to eradicate, or at least reinterpret, the notions of jihad and sharia in the holy book in his article whose title was translated in English as 'Reflections on Europeanism, Radical Islam, The muslim's Task and Slips of the Tongue' http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bernardhenri-levy/reflections-on-europeanis_b_8676016.html . He exactly said 'Asking Muslims in France to dissociate themselves from Islamism implies that only a Muslim is in a position to say to other Muslims, "Your Islam is not the right one," and that only a reader of the Koran can say with authority to other readers of the Koran, "Let's eradicate, or at least reinterpret, the notions of jihad and sharia in the holy book we share."
Putin pacified the responses from his muslim representators (Kadyrov, Yevkurov..) by signing such a law which infact gives only an exceptional right to said religions, however , it is still uncertain if Putin is supporting western governments about Islam especially the Nato governments who are indeed following Levy's ideas.
