Let me recall the article 1 from the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights, 1948:

Article 1.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

...Sympathy...

Where interrogation
is made accuracy and meaning
a cathedral runs fast.
Inside a harp;
and a ray of light shapes
an early life.
On the walls is written twice:
accept the challenge and play.

...To Cross The Desert Of The World With You...

To cross the desert of the world with you
To face together the terror of death
To see the truth to lose the fear
Beside your steps I walked

For you I left my kingdom my secret
My fast night my silence
My round pearl and its orient
My mirror my life my image
And I left the gardens of paradise

Out in the light without veil of the hard day
Without the mirrors I saw that I was naked
And  the open space was named time

That's why with your gestures you dressed me
And I learned to live in the wind

Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, in 'Livro Sexto' (translated by me)

This is some old stuff... poems/rhymes of the past. I'm going to data dump too many at once... just for the fun of it.

Ever Truest To My Love

Oh how my heart longeth for thee my dearest.
Whenst thou are away, the shortest of time passeth

and I miss thee. . .
I miss thine touch more than thou shall ever know.

Mine gaze falls yonder there, where the sun's light
breaketh through the window's square.
Tis but only a reminder of thy radiant beauty,
a radiant beauty that fairest well the passage of time.

Painful be mine--waiting, as I siteth here,
staring out and about upon this world. . .
this world outsideth our humble abode.
No moment cometh too soon, when we shall embrace again
and share such tender loving thoughts of our union's bliss.

Markest not the days do I. . .
nay, it is the seconds that I counteth,
as thou journey along thy way. And I indeed waiteth. . .
holding ever truest to my love for thee.
----------------------------------------------------------------

It's hard to soar with eagles when you're surrounded by turkeys.

('Eagles' are those who seek positive change and 'turkeys'

are the keepers of the status quo.)

Fools will rush in where angels dare to tread.
Not that they fear death it's the taint they dread.
Eagles soar high during a warm summer's breeze.
And they do so with breathtaking grace and ease.

Turkeys go "gobble gobble" and peck at the ground.
Nary a thought of theirs is ever sound.
Fools scream at the mess then have a good laugh.
Rarely will they use a crutch or a walking staff.

The fools of today are the eagles in the days of old.
But is their thinking foolish that a bright future may unfold?
Angels tread not the path of a fool's journey.
Why risk getting hauled off in a hospital gurney?

Be that what may come, as it so often does.
Fools wish that what may be, is not as it was.
Turkeys care not, for whatever may be.
Turkeys are the blight of both you and me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I saw the future and no one was there.
And all because humanity didn't care.
All that was right and just was left to rot.
What used to be good sense they now haven't got.

A timeless beauty there was for all to see.
Now there's mostly pollution from sea to sea.
There once was great promise of freedom and joy.
Now we're nothing less than someone's play toy.

Oh how I wish I could say that humanity's future was bright.
But lacking personal responsibility that option passed one night.
MONEY we want, all said, never understanding its wicked ways.
It's just one of the things that's brought us to the end of days.

Fear not! I say for a do-over is possible,
though way off in the future it may be.
It is something to look forward to,
should we allow our eyes to see.
But first the old ways and all of those
old things must come to pass.
Let all of it go for there's not much left to grasp,
yes, even those blades of grass.

Gaia is tired and way too used up for her age.
What humanity has done to her sets my mind in a rage.
How could one so loving be treated so bad?
It is to my every sense, way way too sad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

In The Name of Brotherhood

Counting the days as life goes on,
I wonder about yesterday's song.
Peace was shining and love was close by,
clear blue was the day time sky.
Yet somehow, it all seems lost
and with a very great cost.
I wish all to dare, to dare and care

as it isn't too late to again find love.
Let us all hope that peace befalls the doves.
Let strife follow those that choose war,
but let us have hope that war is no more.
And may the skies be clear and the waters be good,
all in the name of Brotherhood.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wonderful Nature

Pleasing to my sight are the wonders of nature freely flowing before me.
Colors and shapes of the flower's beauty nature has created for us to see.
Waters flow with sounds of relaxing, soothing cheers.
What a comforting sound natures brings to our ears.
Birds fly above us, ever so freely, as if they never had a care.
Breath taking are their movements as they take command of the air.
The grass is so green and it waves at us during a breeze.
So cool under foot and in the summer it does please.
Fresh is the air as I breathe in deep the fragrances of shear delight.
So many times the smells of nature caused a peaceful sleep at night.
Tiny creature wander about, crawling wherever they may,
toiling about with whatever sustains their short lives is their way.
Ever so gracious is the way nature share her bounty of things.
Everything around us is forever the beauty that nature brings.
Enjoying nature ever so freely, without even a tiny cost,
tis ours to bask in natures beauty, that it shall never be lost.
So much is the way of nature, so sweet and so free.
May it never be lost is my wish for both you and me.

Even if we just depart for sunnier shores in a puff of blue smoke...

Something has got to happen sooner or later.
The greatest sense is, everyone of us matter.
To a higher being who created all as One.
From the smallest of atoms to the central sun.

We live, we die in endless circles of time.
None of it is done without reason nor rhyme.
Infinite possibilities abound in many ways.
It's not the end of time, just the end of days.

Days gone by, where all was for not.
Things meant to be, yet we haven't got.
Time is a flow that isn't easily measured.
As we spend it here, it's to be treasured.

Should we find better ways to live our lives,
May they be everlasting, so humanity thrives.
But there always comes a time when we must depart.
It's just a thing, well understood in the heart.

It's sad, when life's woes seem too much to bear.
Those times when it just too mundane to even care.
Alas, even if we just depart for sunnier shores.
The thought of such seems to heal our sores.

And by whatever means we should find ourselves there.
Be it by plane, train or boat or even ride-share.
Even if by a stoner's way, through a pipe toke,
Or better still, in a puff of blue smoke.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"One Meaningless Day."

Did it have to be? The gods of fate have separated me from my one true love--
severed from my life like a butcher's cleaver chopping meat--I shall never see her again.
The wisdom of the poets of age, may express my loss in some meaningful way. But as I reflect...
I am left wanting--wanting some meaning for such a tragic death.

This empty feeling of her passing, cripples my capacity for expression.
Her radiant light will never shine again. We shared visions of children not yet born.
Our first born to be was with her when she died.Even if I had the wisdom of all the poets,
somehow I feel her death would still transcend understanding.
Yet I know I must live on... I pray diligently that the future holds no more such heartache.
My pain runs so deep, I fear that death itself may not end my grief.
If I should live a thousand life times... I will never recover the loss of her being.

Heavy is my heart as 2001 beckons to end, oh so woeful it was.
Their reckless nature was in defiance of the LOVE forces that be.
That fateful eleventh day of September will never make sense to me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Life is ever so pleasant when I am with you.
My heart beats with joy and love fills the room.

Your loving embrace sets my heart on fire.
Your presence is the object of my desire.

I love how we touch with caring strokes.
Strokes of a loving nature only lovers will ever know.

Our love for each other lifts my spirit high.
Nothing is ever missed when it is just you and I.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a boss with a mean spirit, you see.
She has a way that really gets to me.
One moment everything is all right...
the next moment she makes me uptight.

I'm called to her office for not much at all.
She says "you're slackin' now go answer the call".
I'm picked on and pushed around for reasons unclear.
It's like they want to make my life a smear.

Should I quit, or let myself get fired.
I'm just too old and way too tired.
A hostile work place is what I'm in.
God hear's my prayers and knows it's a sin.

What can I do to change my employment now?
Can I make enough aprons or perhaps milk a cow?
So late in life to make this kind of change.
Why is my boss so mean and deranged?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cause & effect A musing in rhyme...

It doesn't take a prophet to know that a
stone will sink if thrown into water.
Simple events will always happen this way,
be it is, as they may.

To throw a stone will cause the stone to fly.
Toward the water I did throw, did I.
The stone did hit water, this much I know.
But it was gravity that caused the stone to sink like so.

Was it my intentions that the stone should sink?
Was a hard throw I spent to skip that stone across the drink.
Perhaps it was my hope to land it on the other side?
Could there be any other reasons why?

Whatever events we create, always will have a cause and effect.
Is the effect what we had reasoned or was it our reasoning that didn't effect?
If I reason that the stone will make it across the drink,
did I reason the the stone will not sink?

But it was the effect of my reasoning that caused the stone to sink!
Sorry, it was still gravity that cause that effect.
My reasoning effected the cause of the effect.
Though it was the sinking that effected the cause of my reasoning.

I suppose it can be said that: reasoning is the cause of everything...
but it still seems like reasoning is just the effect.

Well, if I had not reasoned, then the stone would not have sank.
Then again, if the stone would have hit land, it would not have sank either.
After all, that was the original intent of my reasoning, that the stone should not sink.

But the effect was that it did... so, it was the cause of my
reasoning that caused the effect of the stone's sinking.
But that can't be, as it was gravity that caused the stone to sink,
don't you be thinking?

It's just all part of the show, this much we know, words were meant to be written.
I post these words to cause an effect and for no other reason.

Though the effect of reasoning is not fully understood,
it is the effect of reasoning that causes the cause.
And it's that cause that we need to effect. Or, is it the effect
of the cause that we seek that is really the cause of the effect?

Never lie to me if you
cannot tell the truth.
Never tell the truth if
you have a good lie to share.
Never let a lie become truth,
rather, let the truth become a lie.

Deeper meaning these words do have,
with profound thought one must contemplate...
because a bad lie makes one speculate.

Little white lies go mostly unnoticed,
and polite lies flow at flattery's pace.
But when a big lie is spoken and is
believed as truth...
it causes the mind to go through the roof.

So in all of that is a moral you see...
for lies break down the fabric of truth.
And that moral is found in the first two words,
because the rest of this rhyme's, little crimes,
would bend our minds toward screaming.

----------------------------------------------------------

A funny thing about lies,
If you just watch their eyes.
Liars will look all around,
Even toward the ground.

Eye contact is a thing they avoid,
Simply because they are paranoid.
Their heads will lean to the left,
As the fabrication has caused a cleft.

But what about words on a page?
You can’t see their eyes in a rage.
How can one tell if such words are true?
What method can be used, what can we do?

The heart prefers harmonious things.
A joy to life harmony brings.
Lies undo that joyful contentment.
When lies are discovered, it causes resentment.

Your heart will speak when lies are told.
Even if the lies are weak or big and bold.
All one need do is listen to that voice within.
For that is where the truth finds its kin.

Liars have a different kinship you see?
All lies told fall outside of you and me.
The father of lies knows this to be true.
Which is the reason he tries to trick you

.

The energies of words have their highs and lows.
Sense their vibrations and follow their flows.
But always and I mean always, look within,
To know the truth of what you read as you begin.
