Here is info from Corpus Christi news source. This report says the earthquake happened at 12:15pm.
" According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a small earthquake was reported off the Texas Coast on Saturday afternoon.
The earthquake occurred just Northeast of South Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico and was recorded as a 3.0 magnitude earthquake around 12:15 p.m. and was reportedly felt by 19 individuals in 17 different zip codes.
Jana Pursley, a geophysicist for USGS said Saturday night earthquakes that are reported in the Gulf of Mexico do not happen often and usually occur further south near Mexico.
"The earthquake that was reported happened at the edge of the continental shelf," she said. "We don't know what could have happened but it could be possible something shifted."
