DAMASCUS (Reuters) – The fate of Idlib will be at the table of the upcoming summit between Russian President Putin and his counterpart Trump in Helsinki, sources in Damascus said Thursday.
The sources said if the parties agreed on the fate of Idlib, Turkey will be forced to deal with this option. It will be required to play the same role as Jordan in closing the border and providing assistance to the refugees from the battles in a strip inside Syrian territory pending the liberation of the villages and the return of the residents to their homes.
The sources said that the beginning of the closure of the file of armed fighters, especially foreigners and their high proportion in Idlib after being deported from the areas resolved by the Syrian army to the north over the past years, the information we have from our sources in the north says that Turkey has reduced its military presence in some points of deployment in Idlib and removed Some military points advanced by Russia.
The sources said that the battle is imminent, and that Turkey will deal with the Russian-Syrian option to end the file in the way of Aleppo, Ghouta and Daraa.
