Russian Air Force shifts attention from Idlib to east Syria
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force has shifted their attention from the Idlib Governorate to the eastern region of Syria this week, as they can continue peace negotiations with Turkey and Iran.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Russian Air Force launched several airstrikes over the eastern region of Syria, today, targeting a number of hideouts belonging to the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).
Among the areas targeted by the Russian Air Force on Wednesday were the Al-Safa region and Badiya Al-Sham region of Deir Ezzor; these aforementioned areas currently have a large presence of Islamic State terrorists.
Prior to their heavy attack on e astern Syria this morning, the Russian Air Force had primarily concentrated their airstrikes on the Idlib and Hama governorates.
However, due to Turkey’s pleas, the Russian military has agreed to temporarily halt their attacks on the Idlib Governorate in favor of peace talks.
