This is a major event that has not received the attention it deserves. I hope to elaborate in subsequent posts.

Refresher

The JFK assassination is something the world remembers after 55 years. There have been at least 600 books written about it. Dealey Plaza is visited everyday. I went there myself last July.

The Rajiv Gandhi assassination (May 1991) has had not much written about it. And yet it is an event that influenced deeply the nature of the world's second most populated nation and also influenced policies of governments across the globe.

The corrupt Warren Commission placed the blame for the JFK assassination on a lone nut (who happened to have extensive intelligence connections). The Indian government appointed the Jain Commission to probe the Rajiv Gandhi assassination. Justice MC Jain in contrast to the Warren Commission made some bold and startling pronouncements.

The Jain Commission

The Jain commission was appointed in 1992 by the prime minister Narasimha Rao to probe the Rajiv Gandhi assassination. I think it was expected to be a Warren Commission type whitewash. However Justice Jain after a 7 year probe named certain Indian individuals as suspect and also suggested that the conspiracy had foreign sponsors. It did in fact name the foreign agencies involved. No prizes are offered to those guessing who these agencies were.

Chandraswami

The Jain commission suspected an individual who called himself Chandraswami (not his real name) of involvement in the crime. He was a colourful and sinister character who travelled the world and mixed with national leaders and prominent individuals. He had visited at least 118 countries at the time of the assassination.

Subramanian Swamy

Subramanian Swamy is an Indian politician who is doing quite well at present. In spite of being named as a suspect by the Jain commission. He and Chandraswami were in the town where Rajiv was killed on the same day. Another politician has testified to this and maintains his story to the story to the present day.

Short Posts

I am making short posts to avoid the frustration of keying in a long post and losing it. Do certain words trigger alarms somewhere ? Mossad perhaps ? The Jain commission boldly named them as having a role in the murder.

Chandraswami

Chandraswami wore robes and passed himself off as a holy man. He has been photographed with people like Daniel Ortega, Elizabeth Taylor and many others. He met Margaret Thatcher, Zaire's Mobutu, Ferdinand Marcos , many US congressmen , the Sultan of Brunei and others. He amassed a fortune of USD 100 million by the mid eighties. This fortune was administered by Toronto businessmen Ernie Miller and Don Fraser.

Khashoggi

Arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi determined that Chandraswami had money and got Washington socialite Steven Martindale to introduce him to Chandraswami. Martindale travelled to many places with Chandraswami. His book By Hook or by Crook has a lot of the details. It was suppressed and Martindale died ,allegedly of AIDS not long after. The book can be ordered online but costs $500.

Khashoggi was a central figure in the Iran Contra affair and Chandraswami provided the money.

Background

Subramanian Swamy is today an open supporter of Israel and an islamophobe. He travelled overseas on more than one occasion with Chandraswami.

Rajiv Gandhi and his predecessors did not permit diplomatic relations with Israel. He opposed as an opposition leader the refuelling of Yank military aircraft at Bombay airport during the brutal first Gulf war.

All that changed almost immediately after his murder.

How come these pictures come out the size of postage stamps ? Everyone else has massive images. Larger files are rejected.
