During his visit to Helsinki, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković
The interlocutors exchanged views on the topical issues of bilateral relations and interaction in the international organizations.
The parties stressed the importance of consolidating international efforts to restore territorial integrity of Ukraine and counter Russia’s further aggression, expansion of its military presence in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, including by strengthening sanctions.
The leaders noted the importance of increasing coordination of efforts to neutralize Russian interference in electoral processes in Ukraine and the EU in 2019.
Petro Poroshenko and Andrej Plenković expressed content with the high dynamics of bilateral political dialogue. They also noted the renewal of the work of the Joint Ukrainian-Croatian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, as well as the practical activities of the Working Group on the Study of Croatia's Unique Experience in the Peaceful Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the last meeting of which took place in Kyiv on October 25, 2018.
The parties also discussed prospects for developing energy cooperation in order to strengthen Europe's energy security.
