Murchison Falls

Not the best video. The White Nile is squeezed through a 7 metre wide constriction. The water is quite violently turbulent.

Old Faithful

I have seen Old Faithful erupt and also the geysers at Roturua in New Zealand.

Grand Canyon

I wasn't that impressed by the Grand Canyon (visited 2011) but thought I'd post this picture I took.

Copy and Paste

I don't seem to be able to copy and paste images here anymore. This may be the end of this thread. I might alternatively add thumbnails from my own collection.

Mount Yasur

One the most incredible spectacles I have ever witnessed. I was all booked to travel to Nicaragua last year to see the Masaya volcano. This is the world's only easily accessible lava lake. My present state of health rule out the other lava lakes. However the damned CIA started fomenting unrest there and I had to reschedule.

Vanuatu

I should have mentioned that Mount Yasur is in the island of Tanna in Vanuatu. Vanuatu is in the South Pacific. The capital Port Vila is four hours from Sydney. The Yasur eruptions are of the Strombolian type, named after Mount Stromboli in Italy.

Lungfish

I saw a few in our local aquarium yesterday. I couldn't find a better documentary. You Tube is absolute crap.

Another unusual creature I saw at the aquarium yesterday.

Butcher Bird

In these dismal times one of the few things I have to cheer me up is the song of the grey butcher bird. A plain carnivorous bird, it nevertheless has a loud melodious song.

Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos

I saw three of these magnificent birds in Sydney Olympic Park this morning. Only occasionally seen in urban areas. I apologise for the poor video quality. I have also seen red tailed black cockatoos.

I had my best views of these beauties on an outing yesterday.
