SYNCHRONICITY ALERT

I was going to start this exact thread today.

Here's what happened. USA players were almost ready to foul out.

USA was going to lose. (USA is broke. They are in debt. They are going to lose)

So USA guy threw a punch at Chinese guy first. (USA will provoke a war with China first.)

Then USA and China both went kind of crazy. There will be a war with China. You can learn

a lot about the future, from watching sports.

:2cents:

Israel

Israel will make a killing from this conflict if it intensifies. India buys half of Israel's arms output.

Earlier today when FOX news hosts were reporting Hong Kong news... one reporter said if he lived in Hong Kong he would immediately move to Taiwan! The other news reporter said something more ominous... he said he would move much further away than Taiwan !!

Pompeo declares Hong Kong no longer autonomous from China

May 27, 2020 at 1:18 PM EDT

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo notified Congress on Wednesday that Hong Kong no longer should be considered autonomous, a declaration that could have far-reaching ramifications in its trading relationship with the United States.

Under a law passed by Congress last year, Pompeo was required to issue a determination on Hong Kong's autonomy. In a statement, Pompeo noted last week's announcement that China will impose national security legislation on the former British colony. Calling it "only the latest in a series of actions that fundamentally undermine Hong Kongs autonomy and freedoms," he said the legislation means Hong Kong no longer merits special treatment that applied when the territory was under British rule before 1997.

"No reasonable person can assert today that Hong Kong maintains a high degree of autonomy from China, given facts on the ground," Pompeo said.

"Hong Kong and its dynamic, enterprising, and free people have flourished for decades as a bastion of liberty, and this decision gives me no pleasure," he added. "But sound policy making requires a recognition of reality. While the United States once hoped that free and prosperous Hong Kong would provide a model for authoritarian China, it is now clear that China is modeling Hong Kong after itself."

Under the proposed Chinese law submitted to the legislature, the Chinese Communist Party can deploy "relevant national security organs" to Hong Kong, giving legal cover for the mainland security services to operate in the previously autonomous financial center. Pompeo has called it a "death knell" for Hong Kong.

What is written is Babylon's warriors would cower and become like women.

Ironic that Taiwan now has a female leader.

I can see the "handwriting on the wall" for Taiwan !!

Hong Kong, China, and Britain have an agreement made for 1997 return to China that included autonomy of the entire Hong Kong region.   That means HK local government rules HK, not China.   Autonomy means separate but not completely independent.   I have suggested to mainland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) that mainland officials violate HK autonomy with their extradition law and their new national security law.

Taiwan could annex Hong Kong just as Russia annexed Crimea.  All it takes is a vote of the citizens.

Or Hong Kong could vote for independence.

I like a 4 China's policy - Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet, and Mainland, all independent nations just as US and Britain are independent yet allied in many ways.   Same for 4 Chinas.

China, with 1.6 billion people, could easily invade the US with 100 million troops and seize control of a 330 million population, and they could do it another 15 times if the first one failed.   What China lacks is transport.   They have no easy way to move that many troops at once.   Instead they send 5 to 10 million "students" to US schools each year, and in about 10 years, they have the 100 million troops but they are unarmed.   China is not ready to win a war.   They are also not ready to lose a war.

Chinese military strategists admit China is not ready for war with the US.   They lack the quantity and technology of advanced weapons systems.   They have tested prototype systems and equipped a few of their ships with laser weapons but do not have the firepower of US attack fleets, US nuclear submarines, and US space weapons.

It would be a huge mistake for China to attack US military installations or US cities, and they are working to achieve military superiority but it will take at least a decade to match US military power and mobility.

The Chinese government approved a resolution Thursday to impose national security laws on Hong Kong. The vote came after a week of deliberation in China’s largely rubber-stamp legislature, the National People’s Congress, and is referred to as the decision to “establish and enhance the legal framework and enforcement mechanisms for national security” in Hong Kong.  This vote is direct violation of the Treaty between Britain and China regarding the turnover of Hong Kong to Chinese possession.

The extradition of Hong Kong citizens to mainland China for trial also violated the autonomy agreement as it is legally required that accused people be tried in their own communities by their fellow citizens.   Mainland China's courts are not trustworthy courts with fair traditions.   So Hong Kong protests began with the extradition decree and continue under the new national security law.   Both extradition and the national security law were presented as national security measures, but they obviously create problems with autonomy promises.  So Mainland officials have violated the 1997 agreement and the question remains, what will the UK or anyone else do about it?

US gov't proposes new sanctions against Hong Kong in the form of changing their trade status which was more favorable even than for China.   I think that is a mistake.   Mainland officials should be punished, not Hong Kong.

One big difference between arrest in Hong Kong and arrest in China is that in China, suspects are often tortured, something that Hong Kong police would not do before 1997.   Infiltration of Hong Kong police by China's State Security is changing that tradition.   China's Ministry of State Security (MSS) would be the equivalent of the NSA, CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, and other agencies rolled into one giant department.
